Aazarah nodded, reaching out her hand to Kaden in the old way of agreement of her people and placing it back to her heart. "I feel fine with that arrangement - and my Sapphire is echoing your words about Opora with much enthusiasm.. something does need to be done."
She paused a moment as her gaze studied the ground around them. "Would you know which town lies five hours north of here? In truth, if it is all connected, there is nothing left here to see for many days - the Stadium has had a Magic overload. I feel we would find more in search of Nykos".

Kaden echoed the gesture she made, a slightly amused grin on his face as he did so. He was silent as she spoke. Then he shook his head. "There is a town, yes, but...well, it's not exactly a settlement anymore. It's been abandoned for a long time." The wizard fidgeted a bit. He was getting a little nervous about the area.
"The truth is, there's always been something kind of...off about that place. I don't know how to explain it. Something...unnerving, you know? Like, deep in its core. I'm sure I'm not making any sense. Anyway, one day, news came in here that the town was suddenly empty. Everyone either left or was, uh, taken."

"How long ago did this abandonment happen? And more importantly .... ", she noted the nervous tension running across his face, and wondered how much more he knew about the settlement, "... would there be anybody in Nightworld that would have come from there? "

"No, nobody that I know of. I myself only passed through it on the way here. It doesn't take long for the discomfort to get to you." He answered the second question first, using the time to think about the first. "Months at this point, closer to a year, I think? It would have already been empty for a while by the time your brother got there."

Aazarah nodded slowly as she both listened to and watched the wizards reactions. "Would you feel comfortable showing me where it is?".
A vague thought floated past her consciousness - maybe she should be asking herself the same question. How advisable was it to be going into an abandoned settlement with a man she had known for all of perhaps two hours? 'Depends on who was giving the advice' she murmured to herself with a small smile. At the end of the day, her own instinct had kept her safe through many questionable events, she had to trust them once more.

This was a man who had dealt with dark magic, re-animated corpses, and being possessed. Yet the mere thought of going back to that place creeped him out to no end. But this was her family, and he'd already sort of made his promise. So, while there was hesitation, he nodded. "Yes." He answered. "Well, somewhat. You were planning on leaving immediately, yes?"

"Yes, as soon as would suit you", she agreed. "Do you have your own transport? The bus I caught in is not an experience I would like to repeat. There would be payment, of course." Aazarah quickly added.

"I do." He answered quickly, before actually thinking about the question. "Assuming you don't have a problem with flying, I mean. It's how I get across longer distances. See, I have total control over my ice. So I usually just kinda make a ring around my waist or something and levitate myself. For more people though, I find it easier to make a platform of ice and fly that."

She raised her eyebrows in suprise, "Very impressive. I`ve never had a problem with flying... however this might be a different experience altogether." Her face creased with a large smile, "So of course I am completely in. When did you want to leave?".

Kaden shrugged his shoulders. "I've got nothing to do right now. I'm up for leaving now if you are."

"Ok, so what do you want me to do?", Aazarahs fingers slid over her Fire Opal ring subconciously.

"Nothing. Just give me a second." The ice wizard said, rubbing his hands together in preparation. He looked up, making sure there were no overhangings or anything to interfere with takeoff. Returning his gaze to the ground in front of them, he held his hands out. It didn't take much of his concentration before the temperature in the area began to drop. Ice started to form in the air in the shape of a platform; in no time at all it was complete.
Kaden smiled. He always did at his handiwork. "Your chariot awaits." He said, gesturing to it. "Hop on. Though it may be a mite cold."

Aazarah returned a beaming smile, "Now that is an act of Magic I`m glad I got to witness. Do you mind if I try something?".
She waited for a nod before running over to grab a small and lonely basalt rock that lay in the middle of the Stadium. By the time she was back she had channelled the rock into a thin yet sturdy basalt platform for both of them to stand on. "This should take away the bite of the cold", she slid the slate across onto the Ice platform and wrapped her arms around herself, "For our feet at least".
She realised the wizard was probably unaffected by the cold, yet her Earth body needed some comfort for however long a flight.

Kaden looked sympathetic. He shrugged off his turquoise jacket and handed it to her by the collar. "Here you go; put this on. I won't need it. I lost my ability to feel cold a long time ago. I just like how it looks." He said. The ice platform hovered about two feet off the ground. The wizard hopped onto it, then stooped down and reached an arm to help her up.
"I'll try to keep as much of the cold off you as I can. This stone cover is a good idea though. Not heavy at all either. This way you get to sit down too."

"Ah.. thankyou", she took the turquoise jacket and wrapped it as well as she could around herself, before reaching her hand back up to the wizards outstretched offer.
Aazarah didnt normally like to take things from strangers, but found herself warming to Kaden. Her grandmother had always told her to look for the trust in anothers eyes - which she had sensed almost immediately in her new companion. Pulling herself up onto the ice platform with his help, she kept his hand firm in her own and squeezed it lightly in appreciation.
"How many times have you flown like this?", she enquired as she moved to sit down on the basalt slate.
