I went from a Lion to a Tiger to a...Bronco. I thought the saying was "lions and tigers and bears, oh my." But our green and orange rivals were Bears.

I'll definately keep everyone updated if I hear more about the duck. (Would it be bad to go "AFLAC!" right about now?)

I decided it was bad so I apologize for the AFLAC part. Still waiting to hear about the duck.

No, the AFLAC thing was funny. But I have never seen a white duck before... here they are brown.

Half our ducks on campus are white ducks.

Yes, it has risen again, the Duck Story *listens to the music playing in the background.
From the Cal Poly Post:
Duck Abducted From Visitor Friendly Pond
On Sept. 27 one of our prized ducks was stolen from the pond outside of the La Cienega housing office.
Authorities and the unauthorized are equally baffled over the crime.
According to the campus police, there is one witness who saw the perpetrators.
Allegedly twio individuals, one male, one female, went to the pond in the middle of the night, grabbed a mallard, put it inside a car and drove off.
"Why would someone take a poor defenseless animal?" asked Karina Vega, a biology sophomore.
The caretaker of the pond is unknown.
Facilities management believes the site is housing's jurisdiction while housing believes it is facilities management's responsibility.
The pond has existed since before this area became Cal Poly Pomona, thanks to a natural underground stream said Doug Freer, associate vice president of Student Affairs.
The pond was preserved as a natural landmark as the campus began to spring up all around it.
In time, ducks and geese chose this spot as a home.
"There isn't one single entity in charge. It is a community pond and an integral part of the beauty of our campus," says Doug Freer.
According to Mr. Freer, facilities management handles general landscaping and cleaning of the areas around the pond.
Environmental health and safety handles any general health issues regarding the pond, he said.
Management of the pond is not left to these campus agencies only.
Many people, including students, faculty, staff, and local families, come from the greater Pomona area to enjoy the duck pond.
They feed the ducks and pick up after themselves to make it a more pleasant area of our campus.
This lovely, natural area means a lot to the students of Cal Poly.
"The pond is a very relaxing place to be," said Juan Rios, a civil engineering senior.
He was surprised to hear of the abduction.
