Small classes are better. I had a normal, high school sized class for most of my stff at Cal Poly. In my courses for my major, however, classes were limited to like 20 people, I think. And it wasn't that I'm not capable, my GPA for my courses in my major was 3.06. The two courses I failed were not major courses, but these things called support courses (what they support, I don't know). And my GPA at Cal Poly overall was 2.33, so it was these G.E. and support courses killing my grades.

ok, i'm going to give you guys my own spin on college. first of all i started college when i was 17, and i went for art, because thats what i love. after discussing things with my professors they told me to change my major to graphic design, because it is still art based but you make a lot of money and there are multiple things you can do with it, and then i can do my fine arts on the side. they told me to do this because otherwise i'd have to be a teacher because fine arts alone cannot support you and i don't want to be a teacher.
i don't do any activities at school. sophmore year i joined choir and drama club, but that was a one time deal. it wasn't the same as it was in high school, i just didn't enjoy it as much. also, i take 6 - 7 classes ever semester, depending on what i can fit in, and i work 30 hours a week. i recently had them cut my hours down a little because i have so much homework this semester. i don't associate with anyone at school except for a few select people once in a while. i just talk to people in class, and thats as far as it goes. i show up, do class, go to work and come home, and i'm pefectly happy with that, then again, i'm kind of an anti-social type of person. i just don't like to be bothered. i do my homework and play my guitar, or sing, or do something with one of my four bands in my spare time.
a lot of people say get involved in activities at school to enjoy it, but personally i think thats crap, because i don't do any, and i love my school. i think the classes are awesome and i love them, and i've been on deans list every semester since i got there, i'm even going to graduate early. the difference is, that i'm in a feild that i enjoy completely. there are some people that just go in a feild or into college because of something they think they can do, and something that'll make them money. my advice is not to think like that. f*ck the money, do something you love and something you're going to want to get up and go to work everyday for. to me, my feild is fun, it doesn't feel like work and that's probably why i do so well. don't go to a job you're going to hate everyday for the rest of your life. thats my take on college.
