Something wicked this way comes

[cassandra]

Cassandra got the mail out of the mailbox on her way inside the club and idly flipped through it to sort out the junk. Normally, this was all she did, after all, there wasn't anyone to write to her, and Kaden paid all the bills since he was the owner of the club. However, unless Kaden was now being billed from a bordello, this wasn't just bills. There was a strong perfume odor coming from one of the envelopes. With a heart heavy with dread, Cassandra pulled it out from the rest and looked at the return address corner. Blank. Flipping it over she looked at the back of the envelope. No address, but a name. And the name made her stop dead still. Glad that she was already in his office when she saw it, she sat down in one of the plush, brushed leather chairs that Kaden had recently bought for the office, and drew her knees up and rested her chin on them. Holding the letter and staring at the name she had a mad instant where she thought to herself that she would just burn it up, and never tell Kaden about it at all...but quickly realized she couldn't do that. Not and ever be able to look him in the eyes again. Still staring at the letter as if it contained a spider she didn't hear Kaden come in.

[Kaden]

Having overslept a bit today, Kaden was slightly late to work this morning. Not that it mattered too much since he slept in the back and Cassandra never overslept, but he still rushed as much as he could. When he was presentable, he ran downstairs into his office only to be greeted by Cassandra staring very intently at a letter on his desk. The rest of the mail lay strewn across the desk, untouched. "Um....Cassie? Good morning, is everything alright?" Kaden asked her, his voice hesitant.

[cassandra]

Cassandra jumped at the sound of Kaden's voice, so deep had she been in her own private hell. "Alright? Depends on your perspective, I suppose. You have a letter. From Keira. Right there." Cassandra said in a tone devoid of all emotion as she pointed to the letter.

[Kaden]

He didn't say a word for a while, unable to believe it himself. "A letter? Uh...okay..." Kaden eventually said, walking toward the table and picking it up. Staring at the envelope for a short while as he held it between two fingers, the wizard glanced over at Cassandra. Blinking at he looked back at the envelope in his hand, he didn't even open it. In another blink, the entire letter was frozen solid in a thick sheet of ice.

[cassandra]

Watching in disbelief as Kaden froze the letter Cassandra couldn't say anything for a long moment. Finally she looked up at him and asked, "Aren't you going to read it?"

[Kaden]

Carelessly flicking his fingers, the frozen letter flew towards the wall and smashed into it, shattering into hundreds of shards. "Nope. Nothing good can come from it." Kaden said. "What else came in the mail?" He asked afterward.

[cassandra]

"What else...Kaden? Aren't you the slightest bit curious as to what she could want? After all, you were very much in love with her at one time. You asked her to be your wife after all...." Cassandra's voice caught as she said those words...each one a knife to her heart. Kaden and Keira had been in love and appeared to be very happy with each other until...until Cassandra herself set out to get Kaden. Now maybe it was payback time...maybe Keira had decided she wanted him back...'Oh, God what will I do if she actually gets him back? I might deserve it, but I don't think I could take it!' Cassandra thought to herself.

[Kaden]

"Am I curious? No. Yes, I DID ask her to marry me. And yes, I WAS in love with her. I hope you're taking note of the emphasis on the past tense in these statements, I'm not doing that for style." Kaden said. "Look, you don't have to worry about me falling for her again because it's not happening."

[cassandra]

"Well, that isa huge part of it. But that's not all of it. The Zane Zombies have a unique way of making people hate me. What if she finds someway to turn you against me, regardless of whether or not she gets you back?" Cassandra asked him with a trembling voice.

[Kaden]

Walking over to her, still sitting in the chair, Kaden pulled her up out of it and held her close to him, as tightly as he could. "I could never hate you." He whispered, unsure if she'd even heard him.

[cassandra]

Cassandra heard his whispered promise and held him back just as tightly, praying that it was true....wanting desperately to believe that it was...but still afraid. Realizing that her own insecurities might accomplish what Keira couldn't, she made a mighty effort to shake her mood. Still, the kiss she raised up to give Kaden had more than a trace of desperation in it. "Make love to me?" she whispered in his ear, wanting him with a fierceness that was almost a hunger.

[Kaden]

Kaden turned his face towards her cheek and kissed her ear. "Of course." He said softly. "I don't think we have in here yet. It'd be fun." The wizard added, turning them around so he could sit in the chair with her on his lap.

[cassandra]

Turning around so that she was straddling him, Cassandra kissed him deeply, breaking the kiss only to pull his shirt over his head. Running her hands over his bare chest she soon followed her hands with her mouth, trailing kisses down his neck and along his chest.

[Kaden]

Taking her hands in his, Kaden pulled her mouth off him and and held her arms together behind her back. Leaning up, he pulled her mouth back into his in a deep kiss, still holding her arms together. Pulling his lips away slightly, his breath ran over her lips, teasing her before him kissing her.

[cassandra]

The eroticsm of the kiss coupled with the frustration of not being able to move drove Cassandra wild. Struggling for a moment to move her hands, then realizing she couldn't get them out of his stronger grasp, she instead moved her hips foward, pressing tightly against him in a slow, rocking, motion.
