Narym shook Kadens hand and studied his face. She peered closer. " You have a serious headache, " she stated. " I can get rid of it, if you'd like me to." She cocked her head to one side, concidering him. " I realise not everyone likes to be touched in that way," she continued, " and of course you don't know me. Or know if you can trust me." She gave a warriors salute. " But you have my word, I will not do anything other than take your pain."
She looked him in the eye and waited for his response.

At that moment Cassandra came to join them and Narym was almost overcome by the charged emotion she had felt before. She stared at Cassandra in confusion and could see that she had felt it too. What the hell was happening?

[cassandra]

So intent was the girl on 'curing' Kaden's headache that she hadn't noticed or heard Cassandra. Cassandra stood behind Kaden's chair and draped an arm possessively over his shoulder. She well remembered what happened the last time a new bartender got hired....but she was damned if she was just handing him over like her predecessor did!

[lilyrose]

"I'm Lilyrose and this is my friend Narym" she said extending her hand.

As Lily shook Cassandras hand she felt a shiver run down her spine. She withdrew her hand probably a bit quicker than was polite and hoped no one noticed. This was strange it seemed only to be Cassandra .Glancing over at Narym she forced a smile.

"When did you want me to start?" she asked studying Cassandras reaction to the handshake.

[Kaden]

"Um, well I would be grateful if you could get rid of this headache. Though, strangely, it doesn't surprise me that you can." Kaden said to Narym, noticing Cassandra's arm appearing over his shoulder. "Just don't kill me in the process, that's all I ask." The wizard added. He pretended to not notice the tension in the air around everyone even though it was damn near choking him. "Well, you can finish out today and start for real on Friday." Kaden told Lilyrose.

Cassandra just stood there for a full minute feeling as if an electrical currrent were running up her arm...a cold electrical current though..looking around it appeared as if no one else felt a thing...except Lilyrose...Cassandra could tell she felt it as well. Realizing at last that she was still holding her hand and hadn't responded to her question, Cassandra blushed, and let her hand go. "What about tonight?" she smiled and asked? "I could use all the help I can get cleaning up this train wreck!"

Narym watched Cassandra drape an arm across Kadens shoulder and wondered if she had made a mistake offering to heal him. Had her innocent offer been misinterpreted.? Not wanting to upset this young couple, she decided it was time to leave. Rule number four: know when to retreat.
" Um, it's late," she said. " 'bout time I headed back to my digs." She smiled ruefully, hoping she had not ruined an opportunity to make new friends. " She reached out quickly and touched Kaden lightly on his forehead. " There" she said," painless I hope!"

Cassandra realized that the subtle message she had intended to put out had been about as subtle as a neon flashing sign. Silently cursing her possessiveness, and hoping she hadn't offended Narym, she quickly said, "Oh, but weren't you going to cure Kade's headache? We would both appreciate it! He's somewhat of a bear when he has one! Besides, I'd like the chance to get better aquainted with you." She said as she motioned for Narym to stay.

Lily looked at Narym and winked " Why dont you stay a while once I have finished here I will walk back to the inn with you"

Looking back at Cassandra and Kaden she smiled "Best I get started clearing up , looks like there is plenty to do !"

The atmosphere in the club was stifling and she was sure she wasn't the only one that had picked up on it. Lily busied herself collecting glasses and clearing tables glancing over every now and then at the other three.

'What the hell is going on here ' she thought to herself trying to shake off the cold feeling that had been left with her since Cassandras handshake.

Narym was begining to feel her age. These young people could go on forever! She was glad to be included tho. " Thanks," she said to Cassandra, " but I really need to get some sleep. It's been an exciting couple of days and I'm not getting any younger!" She rubbed her forehead and sighed, she didn't think they realised the cost of healing. And she had lots to think about, especially why Cassandra had sparked off such strange electric feelings." Besides, I have someones headache to sleep off!" She smiled. "I'll say goodnight then." She walked over to Lily and helped her carry some glasses to the bar. " I'm off," she said and yawned. " I'll see you tomorrow." Yawning again, she raised her hand in salute to Cassandra and Kaden and made her way back to the inn.

[Kaden]

"Thanks." Kaden said to Narym as she left, gingerly touching his own forehead, realizing that the pain was indeed gone. "That's a useful ability to have." He added to himself.

[lilyrose]

Lily watched Narym leave and suddenly felt aprehensive. Although she had only known her a short while she realised she had come to rely on her strength , now alone with Cassandra and Kaden and the atmosphere that had been building up she felt suddenly nervous.

"Im almost done here " she called over her shoulder as she finished cleaning the last of the glasses. "Is there anything else you need doing before I leave?"

Realizing that Lilyrose was nervous, but not knowing how to reassure her as Cassandra herself was uneasy about the strange currents that had been ebbing around all night, she just shook her head no, and told the girl she would see her on Friday.

[Kaden]

Kaden's curiousity was about at the breaking point. He had no idea what was up with the stiffness between the two, especially considering Cassandra's usual upbeat attitude with newcomers. Still, he kept him mouth shut on the subject, for now at least. "No, that's fine Lilyrose. You can go whenever you like. It's great having you here." He reaffirmed Cassandra's statements.

"Thats great I will see you then , oh and before I go I just wanted to thank both you and Kaden for giving me the job "

Lily smiled and looked at Cassandra sure that she felt the same strange atmosphere as she did. She debated if she should bring it up but quickly changed her mind , upsetting the boss before she had even started was probably not the best idea.

Cassandra watched as Lilyrose walked out the door and headed down the street. Satisfied that she was out of hearing distance she turned to Kaden and asked, "Do you get any strange......feelings...or anything from her or her friend?" Cassandra hoped it wasn't just her, but she had a sinking feeling that it was.
