Selene looked up at Ender with sadness in her eyes. She looked away from him the next moment. All the reasons she never wanted to love again were rushing back. All the horrible memories...
"You promised not to do this! You promised me!" Selene screamed at a boy. "What? He was my father! You think I would disobey my father for you? I did it because I had to!" The boy yelled back. "Your father and his fellow bounty hunters MURDERED my family! You... you sold me out! I told you I loved you, and you... you..." Selene looked away from the boy, she couldn't admit the awful truth. "Yeah, that's right Selene, I USED you! My father knew that I knew you and your sister. But you looked so pathetic next to her. You were easy prey for me." The boy said smugly. Selene looked up at the boy with tears of anger and hate in her eyes. "Well, now you're going to pay for what you did to me and my family!" Selene ran at the boy with a knife that was unlike anyone had ever seen. She stabbed him over and over, the boy's blood getting everywhere. Selene finished with blood, tears and sweat on her. She stood up and dropped a rose on the boy. "I loved you."
Selene let go of Ender and let her tears fall to the ground.

Selene turned and looked at Ender, her tears were still coming, but not as rapidly. Selene took a deep breath and sat down. She held her head in her hands as she told Ender what had happend.
"I was 14 and I was so unsure of myself. Liliona was always so outgoing and happy, and I felt like a vampire that no one would like.
"But then a boy came up to me. We became really close friends and eventually got a relationship. I knew his father and the bounty hunters were looking for my family and I promised him not to tell his father where we lived. He promised me he wouldn't, and he said he loved me too much to ever do that." Selene's eyes began to fill with the hate that she had felt the night she murdered him.
"The following week the bounty hunters and his father came in and killed my family. All of them. Even our younger brother Toby. And he was only five. They murdered him heartlessly. I found the boy later the next day. I told Liliona that I needed to go and try and figure out my life. She didn't object, she knew I was just going for a walk, but I hunted him down.
"He said that he used me. That him and his father had planned it. He lied to me. So I...... I.... killed him. I slaughtered him like the pig he was. I killed him and his father for what they did to our family. I did it to them just like they did it to Toby, my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, everyone. Liliona and I are the only people of our family left." Selene stopped and let her tears fall. She cried her anger, grief, saddness, everything that she had been holding in, she cried out.
Selene looked at Ender, her eyes red and swollen. She looked away from him. "We found one of my old friends that I knew was a vampire. I had been friends with her when we were young, but when she was bitten she moved. It took me months to find her, but Liliona and I had talked and decided that we would use the immortality of being Vampires to hunt down those that had killed our family. I became the Vampire that I felt I was. An outsider, feared for being what I was. I was feared everywhere. Liliona and I could kill a dozen people in a night, but we only killed the bounty hunters. We weren't like them. We felt sympathy for their families and let them live. But if one of the sons came after us he was dead." Selene didn't look up from the ground. She stared almost like a trance at the ground. "We got almost all of them. I didn't know that the boy that had betrayed me was a twin. I killed histwin brother that had covered for him. He is still out here somewhere. I was told that he too was bitten to be a Vampire. But I have yet to find him again." Selene blinked a couple of times, and wipped her tears away.

Selene continued to stare at the ground. "Liliona doesn't even know. I've never been able to tell her that it's my fault our family is dead." Selene wrapped her arms around Ender and cried on his shoulder. He was the first person she had ever told.

She looked at him with bloodshot, red, swollen, teary eyes from crying. "Thank you for not leaving me here for what happend." Selene kissed him softly.

"It's happend to me before, many times. I told people I had a dark past and they asked how and I told them I murdered people when I was 14 and 15 and they ran off, thinking I would kill them. They'd abandon me in streets. I never use to fight back, so people would taunt me and make fun of me. I would be found crying in the streets, all muddy and..." Selene took a shaky breath, "Liliona would come and get them off of me. They knew not to mess with her. Most of them she knew. I always was the scared one. I never thought I could control myself.
"But then watching some kids beat up on another weakling like me I decided I didn't want to be like that. I got up off the ground walked over and pushed the girl that was making fun of the small kid. I yelled at her and when she tried to hit me I stopped her and pushed her away. Ever since then I've stopped a**holes from picking on smller defenseless kids."
Selene had calmed down now. Her tears had stopped and her eyes were no longer bloodshot. Selene began to feel a warm feeling in her throat. She took out one of her smaller knives and cut open a scar on her wrist, she let it bleed for a little bit then she sucked her own blood. She stopped and wipped her mouth. Selene looked at Ender guiltly. Like a dog that knew they were in trouble.
