Alone in Anger

[Kiya]

Kiya concentrated and tried to feel the earth. She knew it would be hard- whilst she had alwasy excelled at the branch of fire the other three elementts baffled her completely, they were just too hard to feel...
"Hows this?" she asked

[tamuril]

"Try this" she said taking a step back. She started jumping up and down on the ground hard and then stopped suddenly. "Now close your eyes and listen carefully"

[Kiya]

Kiya closed her eyes and did what was instructed. Just as she was sure she wasnt going to feel a thing, she opened them in amazement, "Tam- i feel like a ... like a heartbeat"

[Cassiel]

Cassiel stood up, "If you don't mind, I'd like to try this too."

[Kiya]

"Omg Cass! you have to feel this" Kiya said excitedly, "yeah come join us!" she smiled

[Cassiel]

Cassiel closed her eyes and her breathing became slow and even. She slowly opened them. "I love the way this feels."

[Kiya]

Kiya had to calm herself to feel the steady beat of the earth again - it felt much different to the warm flash of fire she was used to.. "What do we do now?" she breathed slowly

[tamuril]

Tam sighed dramatically, it was amazing what television had done to so many peoples brains, everytime you ask them to close their eyes they all think they can hear some mystic music, or heartbeat or something. "You're not listening properly" she said closing her own eyes for a moment, she snort laughed at what she heard.

"Tamuril" a woman's voice said in a mock exasperated tone. "I wish you'd stop teaching people to listen to me by jumping up and down on me like that, i'm old you know" she said stretching.

The ground shudderd and tam laughed again sorry old mother, but you know what they're like she mentally rolled her eyes these guys are smart though, it won't take them long to catch on

[Kiya]

Kiya sighed, she was really trying, "but i can hear a heartbeat" she said to Tam, keeping her eyes closed, "what are we meant to be feeling?"

[tamuril]

Tam opened her eyes and walked over to kiya. "That's your own heartbeat, you're supposed to be feeling the earth, mother earth"

[Kiya]

"What does mother earth feel like" Kiya asked, slightly annoyed, she was so used to being able to drwan on the power easily.

[tamuril]

"Well you're not going to get anywhere with that attitude missy" she said hands on hips. "Earth is alive like all of us are, she feels pain, emotions, just like humans do"

[Kiya]

Kiya sighed, "alright, alright... i`m gonna try... 'to be one with mother nature'"

[tamuril]

"You don't be one you just have to be open to her, once you accept she's a living being it's much easier" she said.

*Chuckles* You can't talk it took you ages to figure that one out

Tam blushed hey leave me alone, i had to figure it out for myself you big meanie she said kidding around.

[Cassiel]

Cassiel closed her eyes again and just listened. Very faintly she heard a voice.

"This one is different," the voice said, "Not quite human here, but strong magic. What is your name?"

"I'm Cassiel." Cassiel said timidly. "I am a shifter, and a witch."
