Star walked back to the barn for the night to sleep. it was raining something fierce and she had walked all day and most of the night in it with nothing but her shirt and pants. she was chilled down to the bones and coughing deeply and hard every now and then. once she reached the barn she found a dry spot to lay down and sleep but sleep did not come and she only shivered violently a long with her horrible cough.

she did not hear his foot steps an sat up when she herd his voice. " th...thanks..." she said in a shivery voice as she wrapped his jacket around her slowly. she coughed again her hole body violently shook as she sat there . her eyes were dull and distant looking.

she coughed again in reply and looked at him "i am.... s..s..star..." she said between chattering teeth ... " i will ...be fine h..honest..." she said and lapsed into another fit of coughs.

she looked at him for a wile . " i don't know"she finely said and sank slightly in the straw pulling his jacket around her tightly . she was ex-hosted from the endless coughing.

she watched him and felt safe with him. something she had not felt in a long time. slowly she nodded her head in agreement. "OK" she said to him in a tired voice and shook slightly from her wet clothes as more coughs came forth.

she put the jacket back on and slowly took his hand once again her head spend slightly from the fast movement and and staggered slightly and doubled over coughing again.

she shook her head slowly "no you will get sick!" she protested . the shake of her head made her fill dizzy and was grateful for his supporting arm.
