Eli sat in a state of focus. He had heard Osric was now in Night World, and was out looking for the stones. Eli knew that he was the only mortal who had almost half a shot in saving the world. But he needed to convince everyone who had them to give him the stones, so he could take on Osric and protect them all.
Eli looked up, staring at the small study room from behind his red goggles. "I know you're coming Osric, and I intend to be ready for you. God or not, I'll write your name in blood in the streets."
With that, Eli stood up, put an earpiece in, started up his CD player, and practiced his fighting and defense skills. He knew he'd need everything he had if it came down to him and Osric.

Tam could see Eli in a small room to the left from the corner of her eye. She didn't pay much attention as she browsed through the library shelves...until he started talking out loud to himself, something about blood in the streets. Then he started to dance.
She put her books down and walked over tentatively to the open study door. "Eli.....is everything okay?" She asked, sincerely concerned for his wellbeing.

"Not really, Osric has appeared hell-bent on destroying anyone who doesn't give him what he wants. Which is exactly my plan."

"Eli, I had a run in with him at the inn the other day, he has enormous power, unlike anything I've ever seen before." She sighed and sat down. "He seemed pretty pissed, but I didn't think he'd go as far as to destroy the whole town....if that's his plan though, I don't think there's anything we can do to stop him."

"I know he was there, Dyra told me. I spent a lot of time researching these stones, and the reason he's mad is not just that we found all of them, but when we combine all of them, it gives mortals powers equal to that of a god. He's afraid that we'll band together against him, giving one of us the stones, and will destroy him." Eli looked around and made sure no one else was around before continuing. "He'll probably try being peaceful and diplomatic at first, and if that doesn't work, then he will get very violent."

Tam had no idea the stones were actually useful.
"Well who has the stones?"

"The only thing I know is I have 4 of them. I don't know where the rest are."

She couldn't believe Eli had collected that many of the stones, she was beginning to wish she'd paid more attention to what was going on with the Gods and their stones, she'd always asumed it was just useless gossip.
"4? Just how many stones are there?"

"There are 10 total. 5 gems, five runestones. All of which have special properties to them, that when combined, offer the person who has them all power that makes them equal to a god. And that is what we need right now, is someone that is as powerful as a god."

"I assume since you've already gathered 5 you plan on using the stones yourself?"

"Only if I can get the others. I don't even have half of the stones, plus Kane has 1. But there is no guarantee that he'd let me have his stone, or if anyone else has them, no guarantee that they'll let me have them either."

"So, let's say somehow you manage to collect all 10 stones, and use them yourself to defeat the Gods? Then what? Any diabolical plans to rule Nightworld?"

"No, that'd be too easy. Besides, I don't care about the power as much as protecting what we have here. Besides, I'm not going after Kane, just Osric. He's the one with all the power right now, and Kane knows that if he doesn't cause trouble, we can co-exist. Osric just wants the stones and to possibly destroy us all."

Zane was napping on one of the couches in the library when he caught sight of Tam. He had gotten up to talk to her and happened to hear her conversation with Eli.
"I don't mean to interrupt, but maybe you should go after Kane. Then you would have half the power, and after all, he is the only one you know for certain that has a stone. I'm willing to help. I want all the revenge I can get on him."

"Well, easier said than done going after him. I really can only take him on with lot of help. Even if you're willing to help me, that's still not much compared to what it takes to stand up to a god. Even a lower god like Kane, it still takes a lot."
