Dyra had kept up a running conversation with the sword as she left the library...he now should know the exact reason that she wanted a pirate's story from him....but she had yet to hear two words in return. As she neared the lake, she felt desperation touching her, what if he never spoke to her...
Standing at the shore, she looked at the sword, her voice still calm, even though she had yet to recieve a response from the sword, "So...do you have a story that I can tell the kids? Please? Please talk to me..." Looking at the sword, she waited for something to tell her that she was on the right path...

suddenly a sigh came from the sword. "How many times do I have to tell Rezo, if anyone wants an interview they must schedual it and pay in advance. That boy has no common sence. I mean who lends their sword out to someone so they can use it to entertain children, I didden't even know the NW has an orphanage." Willaim sudden'y said suspiciously.

Surprised by the voice, even if she was expecting it, she replied, "They don't have an orphanage, the kids stay in the Sanatarium...the war left quite a few kids without parents...it's quite sad, actually, so I try to help out when I can. And it really would help them out...they need something to...fuel their imaginations. Can you help me, William?" She didn't know if it would be rude to to set the sword down, so she held it at eye level, tip pointed towards the sky, curiously eyeing the sword...

William gave a slight laugh. "Well isn't that precious. Well whats do ya want to know? I mean I could start from the beginning but Rezo said we only have a certain amount of time and I fear it will not be enough. Sooo why don't ya just ask me what ya want to know."

Nodding quickly, she formatted her question as best she could, curious at the same time, knowing that the location was the most important, "I've heard that there is a ship sunk somewhere in NightWorld...where is it sunk, and what caused it to sink. I can use that to tell the kids a great story about pirates right here in NW...and I've heard you know about it." Looking at the sword, she wondered if it was the right response...the wrong one, and she might never hear the sword speak again, but this was a good excuse...she hoped.

"Money, thief? What are you talking about? I only heard about a ship. What happened?" Looking curiously at the sword, she had carefully avoided the question...but would the sword respond to her queries..

William took a small sigh as he thought of what to say. "Twas a warm sunny day, too long ago too remember exactly when. Me and me crew had just found a bright shiny chest and were on our way back to port to show our riches. One of the older pirates on the ship suggested we try a place called the night world. Not many of us had herd of it so we figured why not give it a try, worst case we stay for a few days and then head for home. Well the closer and closer we got the foggy and foggier it got until eventually we were almost completely disoriented. We had to find out where we were fast in-case their were any other pirates that already owned these waters. So me and a couple of the crew jumped into a long boat and went ahead, smaller boats are harder to spot see, so we figured it would be safe to venture off until at least morning when the fog left and we could find our way back, probably the next morning. We took the treasure with us just so I could keep me eye on it, can't trust pirates. Anyways about in hour into our adventure we struck land. I sent a few people ahead to scout it out. When they cam back they said they had found room and board for the night from a local, a rich man by the looks of it. I reckoned we could make a little extra, why not. So we took the chest and followed me men to this guy house. When we got their it didn't look like a house, more like a temple. We should have known it was trouble but couldn't resist. When the man greeted us, he was wearing this bright rob and already knew our names and everything. We weren't exactly comforted by it but stayed anyways, no sense in running he knew the island too well.. He invited us to eat something. We went into his dining hall, I still had an eye on the chest and by the looks of it so did he. When we sat down he started asking all of these questions, where we came from what the chest was. and of course I did what any good pirate guest would do..............lied. I told him we were family here visiting my old grand mother, 110 years old was she and she had made us a chest full of sweaters." William laughed slightly." Pretty sure he saw right through it though, in fact he said he did, asked us what life was like at sea and how long it took us to find.......................what was in the chest. At that point I was ready to go, but he was too good of a host for that. snap of a finger he shut the doors."

Dyra listened, her intrigue growing with every passing word. She didn't want to interrupt the speaking sword, but questions were on the tip of her tongue...Who was the man? How did he know your names? Did he sink your ship? Carefully biting her tongue, several times, she considered that this would have been the perfect tale to tell a bunch of boys...it was fueling her imagination, so it should have done the same to theirs, if any had existed. At the swords pause, she waited for several moments, ready to hear the rest of the tale, but no words issued forth.
Her questions finally over came her, "What happened to the ship? Did you make it out of his house? Who was he? William, this is the best pirate tale I think I've ever heard...you actually lived through this?" Looking at the sword, she waited for his response, her curious nature making her an avid listener to his story...

A faint breathing sound came from the sword "Whhaa whoo." William said as Drya woke him up from her excitement. "Oh yes, sorry. Okay soo the man started telling us too much about our selves and locked us in the room. So I stood up and looked him in the eye and said. Well this has been a lovely evening, but we wouldn't want to worry grandma would we boys, I mean she is 110 and has a heart condition. Then he told me who my real grandma was and when she had passed away. Which was creepy because even I hadn't known that. He then smiled and said he would be a horrible Host if he just let us leave at such a late hour and the doors opened and a bunch of other people walked in and the robbed man told them to lead us to our rooms. We were led up a giant spiral stair case, must have taken us twenty minutes just to climb it. Once at the top we were led to these giant rooms with our names on the door. I still had the chest on me, I wasn't about to let it go after lugging it up all of those stairs. Not sure why the guy let me keep it though, but I wasn't gonna argue. So once in the rooms the doors just shut, no lock nothing. I checked the room but the unlocked door was the only way out no windows or anything els, which was disappointing because I had been planning a clever ex cape. I figured I was going to have to go with the odious one though, the unlocked door. So late that night I slowly opened it not to make any noise. I knew it was a bad idea, he wouldn't have left the door unlocked if he didn't think I would try and escape. Which I was, I took the chest and quietly walked down the hallway when I herd a noise. 'Leaving so soon?' the man said as he was standing right behind me. I turned around and looked at him before smirking and saying I was just looking for a glass of water which suddenly appeared in my hands ice cold. That was when I had an idea, I was right at the top of the stair case so I threw the water at him put the chest on the Bannister and road it the whole way down. At first I thought it was the most daring escape ever, but when I got t the bottom I was soo dizzy I couldn't stand. the man was also at the bottom clapping, at least he was impressed. he laughed as he snapped his fingers again and the front door suddenly locked. I was still spinning and couldn't hold the chest anymore to I let it go and out of mere luck it sailed through the air and crashed through a window. After I fell I quickly got up and charged a very unbalanced and probably slightly zig zag charge at the window and jumped out, picked up me chest and ran for it."

Herself dizzy at the narrow escape from the madman, she again waited for the story to begin, wondering where the house had been...it had to be somewhere here in Nightworld, this was where they had landed, but she hadn't heard anything about a man that good at magic, and she was pretty sure that if anyone survived the house, he would have quickly become a legend. If anyone believed them, that was. She would check around the library when she had time...after she'd gotten the information that she needed to get the information about the stone from Jetto. Just thinking about that was dizzying in itself...
Her voice a soft gasp in the night air, she queried, "But you escaped? What happened to the rest of the men? It's amazing! I've never heard of someone with that much power, and you'd think that you'd hear about him! Unless no one ever made it out..." She looked at the sword with awestruck eyes, wondering how he was turned from man to sword, but afraid to ask. Even if this story never got her the informtion that she needed, it was worth it...it was an amazing feat, to outmanuever such a creature of magic...breathlessly, she asked, "What happened next?" Almost completely forgetting her purpose for being there...

William laughed again. "Well me first thought was to just get out of there, me other men knew what they were getting into when they signed up and could take care of them selves, besides I wasn't going back. I wound up finding some woods and went through there as fast as I could but the treasure was slowing me down. I went and found a small water fall and buried the chest inside of it. The I made a break for it and made way back to me long boat. When I got their I hid in some brush until morning before heading back to me ship. the whole night I could have sworn I herd something though, something not far away. kept sounding like it was getting closer and closer. I never went to see what it was though, I just got in me boat and headed back to me ship. I figured I would get a bigger crew, head back for the chest and never think about that island again. When I got back to me ship the men were all sitting in another long boat horror in their eyes, they just sat their. All they could say was it sunk it sunk. The ship had mysteriously sunk. I don't know how but I do know where it is and I will someday get it back. Then another ship cam and brought us to another dreaded island, but thats another story." William said with a sigh.

Listening with baited breath, Dyra was quiet, as she considered all that the sword had said, her mind working overtime, to sift through all of the information. Jetto had asked the location of the sunken ship, but did he want the chest, or the ship, or both...it was something that she couldn't get out of her mind, and she wanted her curiousity sated. Choosing her questions carefully she asked, "So, where is the island that you were stuck on? I don't want to get stuck there myself by accident. And what ever happened to the chest? Did you ever go back to get it?" Thinking about the question Jetto wanted answered, she asked one more, "What ever happened to the ship? Does it still lie on the bottom of the sea? Or did you go back and bring it back up?" She wasn't sure if William would answer any of her questions, but again, it couldn't hurt to ask...

William thought for a moment. "Don't worry the island is probably safe, and I got off only stuck as a sword. But the chest is around somewhare and the ship is still sunk, waiting safely for me at the bottom on the ocean."

She paused, knowing that he wouldn't tell her where it was, but still knowing that it was the information that Jetto wanted. Thinking quickly, she queried, "Can you tell me kinda where it is? So that I can take the kids and show them the general area? I mean, they're kids. I know that they won't be able to get to the treasure, but the idea that treasure is there, somewhere...would be so exciting for them..." She couldn't think of anything else to ask, so she waited, wondering if it would be enough for him to tell her...
