Jasmine stepped in with a smile. It really was a lovly room, reminding her of her old room at her old house. "Its perfect, i love it" she stated as she walked over to the bed and pushed down on it, testing the coushiness.
She turned back toward him. "What time do we open in the morning?" she asked

Dakhan gave her a gentle smile as he stood with his hand resting on the doorknob.
"We're up all night, Sayah and I, but we expect our helpers to be out of bed at around six in the morning." He made a face, "I know it's early, but we get quite a few morning customers in for breakfast and a little nip before work."
He held back a chuckle at his own last phrase.
"Not that kind of nip," he said, "A drink kind of nip."
He worked a key off the ring he carried and handed it to Jasmine, "Here's your key. I keep a master of all of the keys, but don't worry. I don't abuse them."

Jasmine took the ring and glanced at it. "Okay, so 6am. Thats not too early for me, i'll be there" she said. She looked around the room once more, brainstorming on topics to talk about. "Err, are there any other employees?" she asked the only question she could find

Dakhan gave her a tiny smile, one that just touched the edges of his lips, but his eyes danced.
"Actually, we've got four employees," he replied, "Lira, who's a waitress --- she's off right now having a baby --- and there's Matica who comes in three times a week to give everything a good cleaning, um, and a big old black and white tomcat who takes care of the mice and you."

She sighed slightly. "So, i'm pretty much alone?" she stated, her topic dying out

Embarrassed, Dakhan looked at the wooden floor, the keys dangling from long fingers as he fiddled with them.
"Well, not exactly. Sayah and I are always working. And the cat caught three mice yesterday," he glanced up at her face, his dark hair straggling into his eyes, "At least that's taken care of."
With a heavy sigh, he continued, "We don't make much money----"
"And we'd make more if Mr. Think-of-it-as-a-Loan would stop giving it away," Sayah broke in. She gave her brother a friendly pat on the shoulder. "Silly man."
Sayah gave Dakhan a tiny frown, "Have you told her the rest of it?"
Dakhan's eyebrows rose and he appeared uncertain, "The rest of what?"
"You know --- what we're reputed to be?"
"No!" Dakhan gave his sister a panic-stricken stare, "Of course not. She'll run out of here faster than the last girl did."
Sayah clamped a hand over his mouth and smiled at Jasmine.

Jasmine was quite interested. She had a very curious nature. Must come from the dragon half. "Told me what?" she asked, tilting her head to the side slightly

Her eyes wide with feigned innocence, Sayah chirped, "Nothing much."
Dakhan pried her hand from his mouth. Sayah frowned at him.
"We have certain dietary restrictions," Sayah continued, "And this has the locals, ah, shall we say, a tad confused?"

Jasmine nodded slightly, kinda catching on. "People have to eat what they have to eat" she stated plainly. She knew that all to well, having to feast on raw animals at times...

Dakhan was confused and his face mirrored his befuddlement.
"Well, you're awfully blase about it, aren't you?" Sayah took the initiative Dakhan was too polite to follow. "Anyone else would be turning themselves inside out with nosiness." Sayah's eyes narrowed, "You don't look like one of us. And you don't smell like one of us.... "

Jasmine chuckled softly, "Thats because i'm most definatly not one of you. At least, not one of what the two of you are" she stated plainly

Dakhan peeled Sayah's fingers from his mouth with a grin of his own, "Sister dear, I think she knows what we are."
Sayah extricated her fingers from his, "She knows that we're vampires?"
Dakhan gave her a fond look, "I believe so." He turned his attention back to Jasmine, "And she has no problems with that?" This last came out as more of a question than a statement.

Jasmine smiled slightly, "She knows, and she has no problems with it" she said quietly

As Sayah opened her mouth to speak, a crash came from the common room of the pub. Dakhan's head spun to stare down the hall and he looked annoyed. Sayah straightened up with a frown.
"Damn-it-all!" She cursed, "It's high time they went home and we went to sleep!"
The pub's revellers had partied most of the night away and although the sun had yet two or three hours of rest left before it had to rise and shine, Sayah and Dakhan had to shoo their clientelle out into the street and home to sleep it off.
Sayah stomped off with a determined cast to her pretty features. Shortly, she could be heard calling 'time,' and 'off you go home boys!'
Dakhan smiled at Jasmine, "She'll take care of the night crowd and close us down. Get to bed. We've got work to do in the morning."
To himself, he corrected himself. Others would get the morning chores done. He and Sayah would be sleeping the sleep of the damned and well-earned it would be, too!

Jasmine noded her head. "Okay, you want to tell me what my chores will be in the morning, so i dont have to sit around and wonder til you two wake up?" she asked, leaning against the doorframe
