"First thing would be to get washed and dressed," the vampire gave her a slow smile, "Then feed the cat or you'll have no peace for breakfast at all. Meow, meow, meow.
"Have a good breakfast of whatever you wish. Cook comes in at about five of the sun and will most likely send you on errands and the like."
Dakhan began to back out of Jasmine's room, "If you have any problems or questions, just come to me or Sayah. Don't worry about waking us; we're used to it. I'm in the last room down the hall and Sayah is on the right.
"Morning," and he was gone.

Jasmine sat back on the bed, looking at the open, empty door. She looked around the room, and was truly surprized to find that this wasn't a dream. She had a job, and a place to stay. She pulled her shoes off, and stretched out on the bed, and fell asleep...

Dakhan tramped wearily into his bedroom. He tossed the big ring of keys on the bedside table and sat heavily on the bed.
Alone again.
Soon he would hear Sayah's door close as she headed to sleep for the day, leaving the clean-up to the daytime shift, such as it was. The twins slept apart these days, as sometimes they entertained companions in their rooms. Companions didn't make up for the lack of a familiar love to spend the late night with; to make the hours before the sun's rise pass in sweeter ways.
The vampire pulled off his clothes and left them in a pile on the floor near the bed. Then he drew the blankets and quilt down and climbed into bed. He lay on his back and, with a heavy sigh, waited for the day to take him to sleep.

Jasmine awoke, and climbed out of the bed. Her body ached all over, for she had tossed and turned all night. It had been too long sense she had last slept in a bed, and it was vey uncomfortable to her. Closing the door that had been left open, she pulled a extra pair of clothes out of her knapsack and quickly changed.
She made her way to the kitchen, to find a large grey cat sitting next to the icebox. When it saw her, he began meowing his head off. "I'm coming" she said with a smile, as she grabbed some food, placed it on a plate, and set it on the ground. The cat began purring as he lapped up the food. Jasmine got her own food, a apple, and sat down at the table. She glanced over at the cat, who had finished his breakfast, and began to clean himself. She smiled, as the cook entered the kitchen.
"You the new girl?" she asked. Jasmine nodded her head. "Okay, i'm gonna need you to go chop some firewood to get the stoves to go. Can you do that?" she asked, looking at Jasmine's frail body.
Jasmine nodded, "Yes, i can, where's the wood at?" she asked.
"Its out behind the inn. Just chop about a cord, then bring 1/4 a cord in for now" then she began slicing vegitables.
Jasmine stood up, and headed out the side door, looking for the wood shed

After only about five hours sleep, Sayah woke up rather abruptly. It was still daylight and although she could walk about in the daylight with certain precautions, she didn't much enjoy it. The sun was much too bright, like a ball of searing fire to her eyes. She wanted to see how the new girl was working out and heaved herself out of her bed knowing that Dakhan wouldn't bother to check on things. Too trusting, that one was, Sayah thought with a wry smile.
Donning clean clothing from her closet, Sayah trotted out of her room and into the kitchen just in time to catch the cook as she made early supper.
"Will you be taking some, my lady?" The woman asked as she spooned out some savory smelling stew.
Sayah was a tad preoccupied when she answered, "Yes, please."
Jasmine was no where to be seen.
"Where's the new girl?"

At that moment, Jasmine entered through the side door. Her arms were ladened with about 4 peices of good sized wood, and she walked with ease. Shuting the door with her foot, she brought the pieces over and set them next to the stove. She looked up, and noticed Sayah for the first time. "Oh, hello, good evening" she said with a smile, wiping her hands on her pants

Sayah blinked in amazement. She quickly recovered her aplomb and frowned.
"What on earth are you doing? Let the boys do that stuff!"
The cook turned to her mistress and informed her, "Neither of them turned up this morning."
Sayah rolled her eyes, "Not again. Damnit!"

Jasmine smiled nervously. "Its alright, i'm used to hard, heavy work. I feel more comfortable with it then with light work. Dont worry about it" she made her way toward the door. "Besides, i'm pretty clumsy when it comes to dishes and things like that" she chuckled softly

Cook's eyebrows rose nervously, "Then you stay away from my dishes!"
Sayah had to giggle at the woman's concern and was shot a heavy frown. Swallowing her laughter, Sayah turned to Jasmine, her lips set in a pretty grin and her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"You do whatever you feel you can," she advised, "No more, no less, and things will be fine. Every little bit helps."
Dakhan had a strange dream that awakened him only an hour after his sister had taken up a tea towel in the kitchen. He lay in bed considering it, at least that's the excuse he had waiting for Sayah when she came to prod him out of bed. The dream had been wonderful and starred the new girl, Jasmine. He slipped his hands under his head and smiled.
In the kitchen, Sayah watched the sun set. Just as it kissed the horizon, she grumbled about certain people being far too lazy for their own good. In front of her were several rows of drying dishes, every one of them needed immediately if not sooner.
"Jasmine?" She asked, "Would you go and wake up my lazy, good-for-nothing brother please?"

Having just brought in another load, Jasmine wipped her hands on her pants. "Sure" she said quietly. Side-stepping away from the cook, making sure not to get near any of the dishes and exited the kitchen. She slowly made her way down the hall, trying to remember which room was his. Oh yes, last room, on the left.. she thought. Making her way to the last room, she knocked on the door. "Sir, your sister would like you to get up now" she said quietly

Taken off-guard, Dakhan looked towards the door. It seemed that his dream-girl had been sent to make sure he crawled out of bed like a good boy. Trust Sayah to get things moving on schedule.
"Yeah... okay, be right out."
He moved to fling the blankets aside and get out of bed when he realized that the clothing he had removed at dawn were his last clean duds. His fresh laundry still sat in the laundry shed. The vampire clutched his blankets to his waist and relaxed happily, a sly smile on his face.
"Ah, Jasmine? Could you let Sayah know that I forgot my clothing in the shed?"

Jasmine nodded, and walked back down the hall, into the kitchen. Sayah was still there, talking to the cook. "Ma'am, Dakhan sent me to tell you that all his clean clothes are still in the laundry shed. Would you like me to fetch them for him?" she asked

Sayah fixed Jasmine with a gimlet eye, "Are you sure that ne'er-do-well brother of mine isn't angling for a night off in bed?" Her expression softened, "With company?"
Cook gasped, but turned back to her breakfast preparations. She'd already seen and heard it all. Many a female had finagled her way into Dakhan's bed and his machinations were many and often clever. His companions never left unsatisfied. If she were only a decade or so younger --
A nicked finger brought her thoughts back to breakfast.

At the thought of her being Dakhans company, Jasmine had to laugh slightly. "No offense ma'am, but i'm not his type. I'm too dangerous, and too over-powering. He wouldn't last ten minutes. I was just wondering if you would rather me go get his clothes for him, so you wouldn't have to" she smiled

Sayah grinned, "Too overpowering, hhmmm? In what way?"
She handed cook a clean cloth for her bleeding finger, studiously ignoring the blood, "It would probably serve the beggar right if you played with him a bit. He could use a little humbling, that one.
"Please, do go and get his clothes," she grinned mischievously, "Take your time. Have a bit of fun with him. You might even enjoy yourself."
