Dragons-
Basic information- Dragons come in all different sizes and colors. The basic body type of a dragon is 4 legs, 2 wings, and a tail. They range in size from ones the size of a housecat to ones that are as large as a blue whale.
Small dragons* (smaller then a Great Dane) are red, orange, and purple.
Medium sized dragons** (up to the size of a VW Bug) are yellow, green, and blue.
Large dragons*** (the size of whales) are silver, gold, and bronze.
Dragons are very intelligent creatures and are much more sensitive then any other species, and can tell when someone is going to do their companion harm. They are magical creatures. Dragons cannot be killed by weapons, or by any magical means. The only way a dragon can be killed is by another dragon. All dragons can speak to people, but the only time a person can hear a dragon is if the dragons wishes them to. The only exception is a dragon's companion.
In general, wild dragons tend to be mistrustful of humans, but the smaller the dragon, the more likely it is to gain their trust. No dragon will attack unprovoked. Dragons raised as companions or familiars will trust anyone their companion trusts, within reason.
*Small dragons are familiars for magic users; wizards, witches, and clerics.
** Medium sized dragons are companions for mystic warriors.
*** Large dragons live in the mountains and are rarely seen by non-dragons.
Different types-
Fire- Breathe fire
Ice/ water- breathe ice
Earth- breathe poison
Air- breathe large gusts of wind or tornados
*Most often, a magic user will come across a dragon by chance, but sometimes dragons are given as gifts by very powerful wizards to their apprentices.
**As part of his or her training, every mystic warrior is given a dragon egg to care for. It takes 5 years for a dragon to mature in the egg. The dragon who hatches will become the mystic warrior's companion for life. A spell, which binds the dragon to whomever it has been cared for, occurs instinctually at the time of the dragon's hatching.
