Taking a cue from other boards, Eli has decided to place warnings in profiles for more serious offenses. Offenses that are very minor will recieve no warning in this manner, as it is more time consuming than sending a message to a person. Warnings will come as either 3 month, 6 month, 12 month, or permemant warnings, based on the offense. Here is how the offenses break down in warnings:
1. Warning
1a. 3 month warning
1. 1st offense, 3 day ban
2. 2nd offense, 1 week ban
3. 3rd offense, 2 week ban, warning extended to 6 months
1b. 6 month warning
1. 1st offense, 1 week ban
2. 2nd offense, 2 week ban, warning extended to 12 months
1c. 12 month warning
1. 1st offense, 2 week ban, warning extended to permanent
1d. Permanent warning
1. 1st offense, banned from board
3 month warnings are for things that are annoying and consistant, or hamper the ability of people to play or admin and mods to do their jobs.
6 month warnings are for things more serious, such as not heeding warnings from staff members, and continuing to do anything that would recieve a 3 month warning after being warned.
12 month warnings will be for those who continue bad behavior covered in the 3 and 6 month warning behavior, as well as powerplaying and disrespect of other members of the board, as well as discussions that endorse illegal activities.
Permanent warnings are for things such as blatant disregard for staff, powerplaying on a constant basis, any illegal activity, and anything that is deemed to be detramental to the board and the members on the board.
Any activity corrected before admin or mod action is taken will not be given a warning in this manner.
Warnings can be reduced through effort. All penalties discussed with staff and through discussion, if the staff deems that a person will reform their behavior that incurred the warning, they may be brought down one level of warning.
We currently have one member on a 3-month warning for using our board solely to advertise and e-mailing Eli the ad for his board. This is an annoyance and against the spirit of the board, as we are here to role play, not run an affiliate service for everybody who wants to just advertise and leave. We will also explain the warning in a PM and on the board.
