"Pleased to meet you too Narym" replied Lilyrose . "Any chance we could make that dinner , I don't go a great deal on sunlight !" she added and smiled.
"And as far as Night World goes Ive only been here a short while myself , I'm not sure how much help I can be ! But I have to say it would be nice to nice to have a chat with someone friendly. Maybe we can work out what the hell is happening here together!"
Lily said her goodbyes and promised to meet up with Narym the next day.
Wary of exploring Night World on her own after recent events she decided to take a slow stroll back to the inn and leave the Library til the next day.

Cursing silently, Dyra felt more than saw the wall appear before her. Reaching out delicately, she tried to touch the darkness that was somehow 'other' than her, but felt it twist out of reach. Strange, that. Her gift didn't recognize it either, which sent a cold shiver down her spine. Her gift drew power of off energy...so what exactly was this. Realizing that she didn't have any place to run, she instead turned to face her adversary.
Stepping forward lightly, she dropped the night shadow, fearing it was drawing too much energy. The last thing she wanted was to pass out while hiding. Her hood still covered her form, but her eyes met the the shifters' and held. Holding out a hand, almost delicately, she asked quietly, "What magic is this? Why...why do you stop me?" Sounding confused, as though what Tate had done made no sense, she flicked her gaze around, trying to locate the woman...maybe she had fled...before turning her eyes back to questioning the wolf.

The wolf kept his glowing yellow eyes focused on Alledyra, noticing the 'wall' that he had created with darkness. As Alledyra turned back to him and spoke, you could have sworn that the wolf was smiling. If wolves could smile, he would have been.
Why do you think?
Tate sent to Alledyra's mind. It was one of the power's of shapeshifters, telepathically communicating with people while in their animal form. Though he thought that this was obvious why he would try and stop her. But he also knew that this side of Alledyra would try anything to get free, and it was most likely just another trap that he was not going to get stuck in.

Alledyra shook her head, as the words rang, and staggered against the wall, clutching for support. One hand instinctively going to her head, she gasped faintly, and then started mumbling to herself. So many words...so many, many voices. But his was louder than the others, for now, still ringing in her mind as she tried to find silence again. THINK. Think. think... That was the problem...she couldn't think right now. She needed to kill. To ensure silence. Of course. It should have been obvious.
Turning back towards the shifter, Alledyra's eyes were vaguely unfocused as she stepped forward, trailing one hand on the bricks. "I think you don't understand...they are not innocent...why do you risk your life for theirs?"
Slowing her steps, she waited for his answer...already feeling her gift twisting and trying to find a release, trying to writhe loose of her careful control. Her mind was still echoing with thousands of voices, but they were fading...

The wolf stood steady in his position, never moving, never twitching, never showing any sign of worry or anything.
What makes them not innocent? I will risk my life for theirs because what you did was wrong. They were normal people, and you just had to come and kill them... for fun? It's wrong.
Tate could tell that she was having issue's with her head. Apparently she had many voices ringing through it or something. But it was also obvious that his could be heard above the rest. He really needed to get through to her. He knew that Alledyra was in there somewhere.

Alledyra fell to her knees, clutching her head as his calming words rang through her. She had thought she was more prepared, but found that she wasn't. Struggling to keep from falling over, or retching, she felt everything spin around her as she lost her sense of balance, of perspective as his meaning became clear.
Anger flared in her as his meaning sunk in, and she trembled as she screamed, only feet from him, "It's not for fun!" Taking a ragged breath, she tried to make sense of everything for a moment, still kneeling on the floor, trying to find the words to explain...but they weren't there. Alledyra knew instantly that she wouldn't be able to make any sense of this for him....and he was keeping her here until she could, or until he could stop her, and she knew that she couldn't be stopped...
Her thoughts twisted out of her grasp, and she realized that she was releasing her gift only as she felt his fur soft under her hand, and smiled for a split second, knowing that she had won.
Her gift touched his energy, and flashed back at her without harming him in the least. Never before had she tried to use her gift against a shifter, she should have realized that some magic kept their energy in a transient state...it had to for them to have two shapes with the same soul. Feeling deep instantaneous pain, she cried out in shock as she fell writhing on the street. In seconds, she had fallen unconcious while her gift drew bloody lines under her cloak, healing them in seconds only to tear at her flesh again in a strange endless cycle...

The wolf hadn't yet gathered anything to say when he saw what was going on. Alledyra was trying to kill him. Though apparently she didn't realize that it was impossible. There was only one thing known to anyone that could kill a shifter, and that was the curse. Luckily, hardly anyone knew the curse at all, or even where to find it, and he was pretty positive that Alledyra, at least in this state of mind, knew nothing of the curse.
Once he saw that she seemed to have hurt herself badly, the wolf reached her in one large bound, and once he was there, he had to look away at what was happening. Although he couldn't actually see her skin ripping and healing, it still sort of made him sick, seeing what he could through the cloak.
Trying to find out something to do, Tate really had no idea. But figuring that maybe he could trigger some memories, Tate slowly shifted back into human form, staring straight down to Alledyra, hoping that she would recognize him. He knew that he was still safe, because she couldn't kill him, so it all depended on whether Alledyra could still break through the evil.

As her gift drew power from inside her and expended it, the tears became smaller, the healing less complete, and she started to cry out slightly in a restless state. She could almost feel Tate as he stood above her, but her terror at what had happened held her gift in a closer check than anything else could have.
Crying out weakly, she opened her eyes trying to get her bearings, her pupils wide with pain, and looked around to find the source of her pain. She still didn't quite understand that it was from her gift, and as her gaze flashed up to see Tate standing above her, she flinched back, her memories instead drawing up distant figures from her past, her mentor, her brother, a few others who's faces weren't as clear.
Her voice ragged with pain and terror, she tried to speak, "What...What's happening? Who are...I didn't." She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, and closed her eyes tight, pushing her hands against the floor as she struggled to a sitting position. "Stop. It hurts." Scooting back from Tate on the ground, she felt in some strange way that this was his fault, and was pleading with him to stop the pain that her gift was causing. Swaying unsteadily, her gift continued to fade away, leaving gashes that wouldn't heal on their own...the first time this had ever occured for Dyra.
