Alledyra stood slowly, looking around the cafe dazedly. She felt her gift swirling inside of her, but didn't try to contain it, didn't try to restrain it. Stalking slowly through the cafe, she paused, before releasing her gift at the nearest person. Their life snuffed like a candle flame, as Alledyra walked to the person next in line, and did the same....
No one seemed to realize yet that she had lost her mind...and only three remained. Within moments, all three were gone as well...and she stood fully cloaked and observing her handiwork. In her mind, she could hear her mentor speaking clearly, calmly, as he lashed at her mind, "You WILL use your gift. You were given this gift...and now you will use it."
Five people lay dead in the same position that she had first seen them...and only a close observer would guess...she smiled as she stood near the door...planning her next attack...

Narym stood at the doorway and watched. She had been woken earlier by hunger pangs, not just hers, but her dragons also. He had complained noisily that it had been two days since he had eaten. " Go hunt then," she had retorted. " I don't think the local townsfolk would appreciate me eating their livestock," he had replied crankily. " I'm going further afield." His voice had left her mind abruptly and now wide awake, Narym had decided to find the local cafe. So here she was, watching the deaths of five innocent people, trying to decide whether to intervene or not. Then, one by one, other diners turned their heads and saw the bodies on the cafe floor. Someone shouted, someone screamed. And then pandemonium broke out.

Smiling from the shadows of her cloak, she watched diners stand screaming and flee from the cafe, catching one or two with her gift and watching them fall. A small shadowy voice spoke to her as she snuffed each life carelessly, and she nodded almost imperceptibly. Time to go somewhere else, she supposed, the few who had survived would spread the rumor that death had entered Night World...maybe one would find the right ears...but she doubted that anyone with enough power would come to stop her...
Turning, and walking calmly through the fallen, she paused when she spotted someone by the door. Alledyra was fully cloaked, her slight figure giving no outward appearance of danger, and no clue as to her identity...she was just another traveler wearing anonimity like a shroud...she smiled at the woman near the door, curious as to why she hadn't fled, and started to slowly walk past...

In her long life, Narym had seen death claim countless victims. In wars it was expected. Accepted even. Narym wasn't immune to it, but she had worn emotional armour as well as battle armour at those times. She had caused death. Hell, had even escaped it a few times. But the death of innocents always found a chink in that armour. Her heart pounded as she watched two more fall to the ground silently. The cloaked figure passed her, a small smile curved her lips slightly. A smile that didn't reach her eyes. A smile that chilled her. Then she was shoved aside in the rush to escape the cafe. Narym was undecided, an unexpected and unwelcome emotion. What to do? She raked the room with a hurried glance and saw two beautiful young women standing amidst the chaos, watching her with suspicion. She looked back over her shoulder. The cloaked woman was already out of sight. Damn! She looked back at the two women, vampires by the look, and held up her hand, partly in greeting, partly a "bear with me" gesture. Then she turned and ran, joining the confused and frightened people spilling onto the street.
The cloaked figure was moving unhurriedly ahead. Narym started after her. The womans face had been familiar. Was she the one she had glimpsed in a dark corner, watching as she and the other healer had helped the dying man earlier? What the hell was going on here? She had thought that it was an isolated attack on him. If this woman ahead of her was involved in in both incidents, then was there a deeper motive here? And why was she involving herself in other peoples problems? Blood and steel! She couldn't help herself, she had to know what was going on! The woman ahead turned down a small alley. Narym prepared herself to follow.

The alley behind the Rainforest Cafe was the easiest way to get to the otherside of town unnoticed, that is, unnoticed if someone hadn't been following her. Alledyra had been in town long enough to know most shortcuts, and on another time had probably used this one to escape from something, or maybe to have a quiet meeting with someone...she was used to dark alleys....
Three quarters of the way down, she paused, listening to the small scuttling sound of rats hiding in trash, and a furtive footstep. Slipping into the shadows, she waited for whoever made the sound, patience earning her more than action ever could. Alledyra could still feel her gift writhing within her, waiting for it to be released again, and was beginning to relish the feeling. That had always been her fear...that she would come to enjoy taking the lives that she was meant to heal...but for some obscure reason, she couldn't find that fear in herself anymore...
Two steps, then three, and Alledyra's voice broke the strained silence with a murmur. "You shouldn't follow me...you don't want a part of this." Under her cowled cloak, her blackened eyes glittered with madness as she waited a response. Above her, the clouded skies forecast rain, whirling darkly and suspended with electric tension...

Fear and anxiety struck the town as the incident in the Rainforest Room Cafe got around. It wasn't long until the whole entire town was in a state of panic. Tate, being one of the resident senior's of the town, took it upon himself to help out in any way that he could, and try to find out what caused the deaths of those unsuspecting people in the Cafe, just out for lunch, probably with families now having to bear the loss of a loved one.
Standing in the shadows, the human figure of Tate turned quickly into the wolf shadow of Fang. With his inhuman agility, Fang bounded from shadow to shadow, his yellow eyes glaring in every direction, trying to spot something abnormal to the town. As he raced around town, he decided to visit the scene of the crime to try and gather some more information. But right before he got there, he saw two people facing off in the alleyway, and he could tell that it had something to do with what had just happened. Sprinting at lightning fast speeds, he raced to the other side of the suspect, yellow eyes glaring.
He wasn't sure if Alledyra would be able to tell if it was him or not, but Fang just kept glaring into the figure.
((Sorry if you don't want me to join. I will delete my post happily if you want it just you two.))

(OOC: No, good to see ya around the board again Tate!)
Alledyra turned her eyes briefly, to see the yellow glaring eyes of the wolf, and flipped her gaze back to the woman...which to watch...which was more dangerous. Settling her eyes back upon the wolf, she had a brief memory flash. In the streets, blood and death, fire...a child who's life was saved...She didn't remember all of it, but she knew the wolf played a large role there...had posed some danger she couldn't quite remember...
Sinking into a low crouch, she felt her gift tensing inside, and flipped her gaze back down the alley, before discarding the idea...she'd never outrun a wolf. The dark shadows of her gift slowly started to seep over her form as she waited, poised for defense...

Narym sensed the woman ahead had stopped. She was too long in the tooth and too well trained not to know she was going to try to ambush her. Immediately she put up her protections. A long time training with the Sh'Ar Tin Da had taught her how to protect her mind and her spirit. It looked as though that training was going to come in handy. She readied her crossbow and unsheathed her sword as she continued down the dark, smelly alley. Overhead lightening lit the sky, just enough for her to see the outline of her quarry. And then they were face to face. Narym cocked her head to one side. "Why?" The slight woman facing her was just about to answer when they both heard a low growl. Narym cursed for being caught unaware like that. Fool, she muttered. She turned sideways on, trying to keep both of them in her field of vision. Wolf! Or shapeshifter more likely. This could be interesting. Friend or foe? she wondered. Or had she allowed herself to be lured into a simple trap? Sighing deeply, she tightened her grip on her sword and waited for the next move.

Alledyra paused at the woman's words, holding steady in her crouch, though she was not trained for battle. Why... There were so many answers to that question, though she thought the woman would understand none of them...Tensing slightly, a thought came to her, and she began to enact it almost before she understood what she was doing. Darkness condensed around her, energy being drained from inside her and cooling the air, slowing the breeze. The whirling black that had only vaguely been seen began to flow from her fingers, as the alley darkened significantly, casting false night on the small area that they were in.
The darkness became near total around her, and began to seep up and down the alley, as her gift released power in a strange pattern. Rats caught in the darkness squealed, some finding their limping way away from her, others dropping and dying as their energy became one with her own...her voice was slow in coming, and sounded haunted, "This path leads to death...there are no innocents...not in these times."
Flicking her eyes from where the woman had been to the wolf, Alledyra smiled slightly, and silently stepped back, backing her way down the alley...the night shadow she had cast might hold them at bay, if not...she'd find another way. But the best chance she had to cause the chaos she wished would not be found down a dark alley...it would be where chaos had no right to be....

Narym tensed as tendrils of black mist began to emanate from from the young woman. She felt their cold fingers probing her, trying to find a way in. With part of her mind she began her mantra, to keep up her defences. With the other part she began to think furiously. " This path leads to death"? "No innocents"? She had encountered these words, this method of life taking once before. She had a vague memory of an old man. But he wasn't a shapeshifter, was he? Nor was this woman. How then? She blinked. The darkness had almost blotted everything out. All except the tiny squeals of dying rats. The wolfs glowing eyes. The womans breathing. Which was getting fainter. " She's escaping!" she hissed. "Damn!" Narym looked in the direction of the wolf again. His eyes blinked once. Twice. What did that mean? I'll help? Or, I'm going to eat you? She called silently to Fallow, her dragon. 'Have you been listening in on this?' 'Of course!' he huffed.'As usual, you've got yourself in a mess. I expect I will have to get you out. Again!' 'Well hurry will you!The quarry is retreating and I may have to deal with the wolf. I'm hoping not though!' 'On my way.' Narym unhooked her crossbow from her back, armed it and aimed it at the glowing eyes. The wolf didn't react. She took a step back and then another. Certain now that it wasn't going to attack, she turned and ran down the alley.

The heavens opened and rain fell in torrents as she finally emerged onto the streets. The woman was nowhere in sight. Damn! Narym sighed heavily. ' I've lost her,' she sent to Fallow. 'Yes, I've been listening. What about the wolf?' 'Well, he's not eaten me yet,' she replied. 'In that case, I can resume hunting, I'm starving.' 'Stay close, I may need you.' 'When do you never?' he grumbled affectionately and was gone. I'm hungry too, she thought. I'll go back to the cafe, see if it's all been dealt with there. She walked back the way she had come. Outside the cafe, the last dead body was being taken away and new customers, curious to find out what had happened, were entering for their evening meals. Narym dug into her pockets and fished out a few coins. As she was doing so, she entered the cafe and knocked into someone. She looked up to apologise and saw that it was one of the young women she had seen in there earlier. "Oh, I'm sorry," she smiled ruefully." I'm not doing so well today!"

((Two things I must say to you, Narym. One, double posting. Bad. I suggest that you copy the second one, and modify it into the first one, deleting the second. And two, godmodding. Controlling another's characters, bad. I understand that you are new at this, and you are doing a great job, but just make sure that you only control your own character, no one else's. So you can't say what the wolf was doing.))
Shivers ran down the spine of the wolf, causing his hair to stand on end in the now darkened alley. But dark did not bother him, his eyes were designed to see through it, unlike the other female, whom almost pierced him with an arrow. As his yellow eyes gazed through the darkness, searching for the murderer, Tate finally realized who it was. It all made sense now. The slight pause when he had first entered, the killings, the darkness, the sort of possessed voice, it was Alledyra. And part of her was still in there, there was still hope for her.
As he watched everything that was happening, his heartbeat began to raise. He knew that he was a force to be reckened with, but Alledyra's evil side had a trick or two also. Tate had never voluntarily been able to tap into his witch powers before, but they would probably come in handy then. Then another thought struck his mind. He could use Cassandria's necklace. He had been able to use that always, it worked for him most of the time. Although he had never tried using it in his wolf form before, and he didn't dare change back.
Focusing his human mind on the necklace, a black aura surrounded the wolf, although it was kind of hard to see through the thick darkness Alledyra had created. Feeling the darkness emanate through the wolves body, it began to let out a piercing howl. One louder than he had ever heard before. And with it, darkness seem to come from it's mouth, creating a kind of shield around the alley. He knew that Alledyra hadn't been able to get completely out of the alley that quickly, so she was still in there. But he was not sure if Narym had gotten out or was still in the encased alley now, with no way in or out.

Lily looked around the cafe taking in the aftermath, the last of the bodies had just been taken and there didn't seem to be much else she could do.
"Trouble just seems to follow you around " she said to herself under her breath. "So much for keeping your head down and staying out of trouble "
As Lily turned to leave the cafe she bumped into into someone in the doorway. Turning quickly to apologise she realised that it was the woman she had seen in the background earlier , the woman that had chased after the cloaked figure .. Dyra.
"Oh sorry" they both said at the same time.
"I'm not doing so well today" the stranger added.
Lily smiled weakly "me neither , but I guess I could be worse" she replied looking over her shoulder at the cafe.
"That was a brave thing you did chasing after Dy... " the name died on her lips as if saying it was would somehow make it real.
The person that had killed all those people wasn't the Dyra that she had met just days before , the Dyra that had looked after her and taken her under her wing.
"I'm Lilyrose " She added almost as an after thought . "Its a shame we couldn't have met under better circumstances."

At last a friendly face! Narym was begining to think she had made a serious mistake coming to Night World, but maybe she would give it a bit longer. " Pleased to meet you, Lilyrose," she said in reply to the young womans greeting. " I'm Narym. It's been a hell of first day! I'm guessing you'd already eaten before everything kicked off in here. How about we meet here for breakfast tomorrow, and you can tell me about Night World?"
