The rain was coming down hard open the midnight hour outside the gates of the town. It came down in dark sheets, the only light came from a far-off street lamp somewhere inside the dormant city. It had been raining for the entire day non-stop - Shana feared it would never end.
The rain always had her thinking, it was it's mystical spell on her. She thought of the sky - how high did it go? How could all of this wet come down for an entire day...? Questions like this always flooded her mind, but that was just how she was.
Shana pulled the hood of her emerald cloak off her drenched head as she took cover under a large willow tree. It was quite comfortable actually, Shana parted past the vine around her and sat down on the dry ground near the trunk of the large tree. She was hidden from the rain and wind, but now she would have to stay there until there was a break in the stormy weather. Lightning cracked and thunder crashed in the distance, making Shana flinch slightly. No, not safe just yet.
As she waited, Shana could feel her soaked cloak against her skin, making her colder than ever. She began to think of creating a fire - but with what? Her hands began to glow and brighten the darkness around her, her Light abilities would have to suffice for the moment. Though she would be drained of this heavenly light within a half-hour, it would have to do. Felling the light extend from her finger-tips and through her frozen body was soothing. Thunder boomed again, but Shana was safe. For now.

Cassiel was tired of being stuck inside so she decided to go for a run. Looking at the rain, she decided her panther form would be the best to run in. She did not mind the rain, she welcomed it in fact. It had been so cold out the past few days and Cassiel hated bing confined. I suppose it's the panther in me Cassiel thought to herself as she ran.
Suddenly lightening lit up the forest so that it seemed like it was day again. The thunder that immediately followed was so loud Cassiel thought for a moment that a tree was hit and had cracked in half. She didn't mind the rain, but she did not like being out in the thunder and lightening. In an instant, Cassiel decided to go back home
Cassiel ran though the forest with a purpose now. She was in the darkest part of the forest when she saw a willow tree unnaturally lit up from inside of it's hanging branches. Her cat-like curiosity won over the need to seek shelter, so Cassiel decided to go and see what it was. She walked silently to the tree, and did not feel threatened at all, so she decided to throw caution into the wind and step inside the branches. What she saw was a girl whose glowing hands were the source of the light. The girl looked frightened and miserable, and the last thing Cassiel wanted to do was scare her even more. She changed back into human form and spoke to the girl from the edge of the branches, "Hello, are you alright?"

In the trees overhead, hidden in the heavy foliage, a large male leopard looked down on the two women. The fact that he had just seen one of them shift from panther to human piqued his interest immensely.
Aryan was a lone shifter on a mission: he needed to find another leopard shifter to mate with. Perhaps his long journey was over? He watched the other leopard-shifter and decided to follow her to see where she went. In time, he might even reveal himself to her.
The big cat settled down on his branch to wait.

Shana jumped at the voice next to her and in a flash of blinding white - there was darkness. For a moment, the darkness seemed to press in upon the three, Shana still being unaware of the third, until Shana redeemed herself. Her left hand illuminated with a soft light and she scooted over to allow the newcomer shelter from the rain.
"I'm sorry to have jumped - Please come in! It's still pouring, correct?" Shana asked as she pulled her damp cloak closer around her. It wasn't a surprise that someone else was caught in this storm - town wasn't far off - but from the sounds just outside the small haven, it was a bad storm.
Thunder cracked in the distance and Shana's silver eyes seemed to glow in the darkness. It was a trait that everyone in her family seemed to have, everyone that she knew of at least. Her light blonde hair was almost white in the gloom. Shana didn't like to think of herself as a pretty person, she was much to humble to ever thing that of herself, but she certainly didn't look gruesome, even in the rain.

Cassiel walked over to where the girl was sitting and sat down next to her, with her back against the tree trunk. "Yep, it's still pouring out. You seem to have found a cozy spot to wait out the storm." Cassiel smiled. "I should have stayed home, but I was too antsy and I had to get out. I don't mind the rain, but I am not very fond of all this thunder and lightening. When I saw your tree lit up I had been on my way home but I was too curious to pass by without seeing what was going on. You see, a tree that is lit from the inside is an oddity, even in Night World. Is that where you were heading?"

Through the dark and the rain he wound his way, following the path through the forest, not quite by instinct as he had never ventured this far south before.
Alone he seemed on this rain laden night, but not quite alone he had at his side one vey soaked and bedraggled looking Siberian Tigress, her tail even hanging limply as thought it were a water filled sponge. On her back, and even more miserable apperition rode, his voice lending dejection to an already weary looking scene. With a slight cough ,the voice spoke out;''Who t' 'ell 's great idea was it to set of fer pastures new in this pishy weather ? May Odin hiv their heid in a platter,I've had enough o' all this damnt watter''.
There in front of them some distance ahead, stood a willow tree by the outline he thought, but it was all aglow, perhaps some shelter could be found there.
As the trio neared their goal ,he could see under the tree a pair of females;''A strange night to be venturing out in .''.He called out to them raising a hand as a greeting to them.

(This thread has been dead for 2 and a half years, and Shana and Sharir haven't been here in quite a while, so I'm locking the thread. Old threads aren't the best place to post because some people may not have been back in a long time.)
