Karis cast a quick glance in Rincon's direction and then returned to watching the door. The moaning rose to a crescendo and then a great gust of wind hit the cabin. It pummeled the cabin with heavy, cold fists. Finding no ingress around the door, it whistled about the outside of the cabin, like a predator sniffing out its denned victim.
Shifting to follow the sentience that directed the gale, Karis faced the cabin walls with his head down and his hackles raised. A low rumble generated deep in his furry chest.
Outside, the wind searched, picking at chinks in the walls, teasing mortar and moss from between the heavy logs. It worked on getting inside to the two creatures that dared its territory. Magic wafted in the air; the clean smell of Rincon's talent was overlayed by the stink of evil.
When a small piece of loose moss was tugged from a corner joint, the wind screamed in triumph and began to pour itself inside.

Rincon ignored the wind, working quickly. He had to get through the cabin before everything fell apart. He searched the rooms, finding nothing. He walked back out into the kitchen, finding the wolfhound still in the kitchen. "There's nothing here, let's go, before this place blows down," Rincon said as he opened the door. He felt disappointed, as he didn't find what he was looking for, but found something impressive enough that it was made up for.

Karis had backed himself as far into a corner as possible and when Rincon entered, he uttered a small whine. There, in the middle of the room, a vortex of wind swirled. It sounded much like a roaring water cascade and was as black as the night. The wolfhound's keen hearing could detect an undercurrent of a banshee wail to the twisting winds. Strangely enough, the whirlwind never moved from its spot in the room.
