Having cleared the forest without any bother, the wagon stopped at the lake to allow the horses a break for grass and water. The two occupants took this time to have a stretch of the legs and a break themselves for food and drink. If this was just a ''simple break'',heaven knows what a full meal would be for this pair.
At least two whole chickens, two legs of what looked like ham,and two flagons of ale, which they both took using the drinking horns attached to their belts.Even at rest eating, the two double headed battle axes stayed in place,on the smaller ones back, kind of looked like angel wings, but with attitude.
Between mouthfuls he spoke;''Shidnae be thit lang till we hit toon,at least lik' mak' it afore derk hits onywise''.
The driver nodded;''Aye fae whit I minds o' it its jist a flees erse awa' fae here''.

Following more or less exactly the trial left by the first wagon, down past the Lake, but this time ,not stopping for a break, came into view a second horse drawn wagon, this one pulled by a team of 2 much finer looking horses than the first four.
Like the first the occupants of this were steel helmeted, bearskin clad figures, they did their eating and drinking as they progressed closer to town.
Unlike the first pair, these new arrivals carried different weaponry, not the swords and axes for them, both had their bows and quivers slung inside the back .along with their quarter-staffs.The guard for this wagon had an extra weapon compared with his companion.a crossbow strapped to his back.
''Looks like ither pair o' buggers hid time fer a sit doon meal, bit then again yon fjords can fair shift it.''.Were the first words spoken by the guard.
A rather non-committal response greeted this;''Aye''.
