Plot
Osric, the ruler of the gods, had a love affair with Jerica, the goddess of neutrality. they had two children, twins- Akando and Aslin. Working together for the beginning of their lifes, Akando and Aslin helped their mother bring peace to the world. But, as siblings do, they fought. By nature, Akando tended to be a little more lax with the rules, where Aslin was very strict. Over time, the fight got bigger until neither twin was speaking to the other one. Still more time passed, and the twins began to fight over who was going to take control of the world.
The device they used to bring peace was made up of gems and runestones. When the final battle raged between the twins, each tried to take the device, but it was split in half, the gems going to Akando, and the runestones to Aslin. Dark times followed while the twin's battle raged. Each was using their own half of the device to control the world until their father stepped in. While they were sleeping, he broke each half into it's indvidual parts and scattered them around the world. Then he put the twins into a sleep that lasted 100,000 years, a very short time to the gods.
The gems and runestones had great power in them, and when the twins were awakened, they wanted them back. However, the gems and runestones were already being used by those who found them, enhancing abilities. Some were put into weapons, others made into jewlery, and still others were made part of artifacts honoring the gods and goddesses.
When they awoke, Akando and Aslin quickly made allies in the mortal world, trying to not only get their half of their weapon back, but keep the other half away from the other twin.
Somehow all of the objects and artifacts have made their way to the Night World, tho few of the inhabitants know they have them. Along with the help of their messengers, the twins are hunting for their lost treasures.

A twist in the plot
Aslin and Akando have a cousin named Kane, the God of Time. In their youth they were close friends, but as Aslin and Akando got greedy and fought over power, they began fighting with Kane. He betrayed them by helping their father, Osric, with the spell to put them to sleep. His incentive was the gems and runestones, as he wanted their power.
Kane did not know that the stones would be hidden from even the gods until Akando and Aslin were awoken. Now, he is back with a vengance.
He has gotten powerful through the years and is now on his own hunt for the stones that will bring him power. Kane's power rival's Aslin and Akando's only when they work together, so for the moment, he is more powerful then they are. Little did he know that he would need help from the people of the Night World. No god can touch the runestones or the gems unless they are given to him.
Kane has a mission. He is trying to turn the followers of his cousins to help him, and if he can't, he plans to make their lives miserable. He will choose only who he sees as the best of the best to help him with his quest.

The 10 Stones
In the weeks following the discovery of the last stones, Night World became like a ghost town. Everyone was content to stay in their own homes, apartments, or at the inn, leaving only when they had to. This was all due to the fact that it was widely known that Osric was angry.
Suddenly, things in Night World took a turn for the worse. At exactly noon one Thursday afternoon, dark gray clouds covered the sun and the rest of the sky, leaving Night World in perpetual darkness. The temperature dipped well below freezing, and a harsh, stinging wind of between 50 and 60 mph picked up. The inhabitants of Night World went to their gods and goddess to inquire what to do, but were turned away with the promise that “nothing is going to happen”. Instead of going to their homes, everyone decided to wait out the storm together, but could not find a place large enough to hold them. They decided to split in two groups, one going to the inn and the other going to the café.
Everyone tried to prepare for the worst, but not knowing what would happen, they could do little but wait. At dusk it began to snow. Within a matter of 5 minutes, it was snowing so hard, that visibility was little more then one foot. Everyone settled in for the night, glad they could wait out the storm together. By the next morning, the snow showed no sign of stopping, or even slowing. Certain that Aslin, Akando, and Kane would come at any time, they waited, content. But as one day turn into two, and two, then three, people started to get angry. Finally, on the fourth day, each group sent a messenger to the other, and it was decided that two people from each temple would go to get answers.
Fighting their way through the snow and wind, the chosen 5 went to the temples only to find that the door were closed and locked. No amount of yelling or banging on the doors and walls changed anything. The chosen 5 went back to the inn and the café to admit defeat. Finally that afternoon, the snow stopped, leaving the inhabitants of Night World with more questions then answers.

The Night World - Kane Vs. Osric (Version 4)
Eli took the stage in front of everybody at the club. It had been hard work to get everybody in one place at one time, but the effort was worth it. Once Eli got everybody's attention, he started speaking.
"As many have noticed, Aslin and Akando have left and abandoned their temples. Their father, Osric, has placed them in a deep, secluded sleep, where they will be for the next thousand years. This isn't the first time something like this has happened, and it won't be the last." Eli looked over the crowd, noticing the murmuring. He raised his hand, which silenced the group. "But, Kane is still here, and he is unchecked with power. Also, through the history books, I have found that whenever Osric binds the twins, he comes to the world to clean the messes his kids have left. He will be after the stones we possess. He will try anything to find them." Eli looked again, and noticed people were slowly absorbing his message. "Now, inhabitants of Night World, there is a choice to make. We can either align with Kane, align with Osric, or try to survive on our own. It's our choice as to the path we take."
Eli looked at everybody from the stage. "Now, I close by saying that our choices will determine our fate. Anybody siding with Osric may be saved by him if he destroys Night World. If we side with Kane, we may be siding with an ally who is not someone most of us will trust. And if we try to go it alone, well, we might be seeing the final days."
-The mission:
Night World's fate is up to the inhabitants. Will they side with Osric, help him obtain the stones, and destroy them, as well as possibly the world? Will they side with Kane, who has been known to manipulate people and history, to become the most powerful god? Will they try to keep the stones, combine them to take the power, or keep them apart to keep the power of the stones from being unleashed? Or will they just mind their own way, letting the fate of the world rest in someone else's hands?

The condensed version (for those who don't want to read everything above):
The first part of the plot was about two gods, Aslin and Akando who were trying to find and control stones that kept the balance in the world. Each god wanted the stones for his or her own selfish purposes. They themselves couldn't touch the stones but their followers could, so they were given riddles by the stones' guardians.
In a twist, the twins' cousin Kane decided that he wanted all the stones for himself. Eventually all the stones were found and everyone gave them to their own god except for Eli, he had 4. The other six were split between the 3 gods.
Then Osric, king of the gods got involved and set a massive snowstorm on the town. The townspeople became weary of their gods and some rejected them because they were offered no help.
After that Osric took Aslin and Akando (his children) and put them in an enchanted sleep. Their stones became missing. Kane, the only god left, still has one stone. That leaves 5. The 5 remaining stones have found their way back to Night World. Five citizens from the town found that they have been granted the honor of possessing the remaining stones.
Osric is out to find all the stones for himself and destroy the town. This is the end of a cycle that has been going on for millions of years. Some people have sided with Osric, some with Kane (who still wants the stones for himself) and some have decided to fight the gods.

A new power has come into Night World.
After the disappearance of Cassiel, Eli locked himself into their home, coming out in rare circumstances. Because of this, Night World became desolate, worse than anything that has been seen in it's history. Because of this disappearance, a new power has entered the town, keeping in the public eye but silent.
The power, a threat which has never been seen before, is threatening to kill Night World for good by leveling it through manipulation of the locals.
This is all happening behind the scenes, but two new visible artifacts have mysteriously appeared – a 60,000 seat stadium and an abandoned airfield. The locals worried about these signs and formed a group to protect Night World from something they do not yet know.
It is up to the locals to put together the clues to find the person who is trying to destroy Night World before they have the ability to carry out their plot.
