Keira sat next to her on the stage and listened to Shana. What she was doing did sound like the usual for someone in Night World, thought Keira, smiling. "How are you handling the news about Kaden?" She asked, her own mind trying to block out the thought of Kaden leaving.

Shana had turned the mic down with the dial next to her index finger. Now if she did talk next to it, it wouldn't pick up all of her words as clearly if she held it right next to her mouth. Shana smiled as Keira came and sat next to her. She shifter her weight, placing the mic onto her lap and pulling her hands behind her.
"Well... I'm not quite sure to make of it yet. I know he'll be back... but it's got me worried. Dark magic is powerful, much more powerful than any other element. If it's used the wrong way, things can turn out very bad. Espically if the mage ins't used to using one of the primary elements."
Shana smiled and explained a little further - "The primary elements are Light and Darkness. All other forms are branches from these two main ones. Water, Earth, and Air are some of the wider-known Light magics - and Fire, Lightning, and Void are the common Darkness elemental branches. There are other, such as Ice for KAden, that come into play as well - but they all have a common source. It's a little confusing, but I've been learning about the elements in this world since I was very young..."

Keira scowled slightly as she took in all the information Shana was saying about the Elements and their magic. When she finished, Keira rested her chin on her hand and looked at Shana. "What do you think he'll do?" She asked. Keira lifted her chin off her hand and sat up a bit, running her hand along the back of her neck before dropping her it into her lap. "I mean, he thinks he can control the Magic, but you think that it will consume him. I don't know, but personally, I think that no matter what you're dealing with, you can be consumed by it. Whether or not you're using Dark Magic might have an effect on the situation or how easily you're consumed." Keira sighed and looked out at the not so busy club. She turned her gaze waiting for Shana to reply. How was she suppose to know what Kaden was wanting to deal with when she hardly knew anything about it?

"I know. I feel that was as well." Shana replied, floofing her skirt until it rested confortably around her knees. "I mean, too much of anything is bad for you - but the Darkness is something else. But, I suppose someone on the other side of things would say the same about the Light." Shana said with a smile.
"There's two sides to every story... We only see what we wish to see - about Kaden I mean. We want to help him, and so we've closed our minds to the possibilities that Kaden isn't really the one we need to save -" She had let her heart begin to talk, but she suddenly stopped. It was beginning to share a little too much, not that it really mattered to Shana. "I mean - Donner is still a person, isn't he? Maybe... maybe being shut away inside someone's soul... No, I know - It makes you go crazy. Do you think that that's what happened to Donner? Why he's acting out so suddenly all of a sudden? Even if it isn't Donner, he still left a lasting imprint on Kaden..."
Shana was letting her mouth just og off on empty theories. So, she stopped, smiled and said, "I'm sorry. I've always been one to make up wild stories - my parents... my parents always used to say so."

Keira shook her head, "I don't know about Donner's motives, but I do know that if Kaden isn't careful he'll end up powering Donnerr more than weakening him."
She smiled at Shana, "And your stories aren't wild. They're logical."

"I know. I'm worried about him..." She said, sighing with a little laugh, "We're both worried about him... if he doesn't know exactly what he's doing then he could get really hurt..."
Shana laughed again with a smile and replied, "Thank you for saying so. I guess I always was a very imaginitive child when I was younger."

Keira nodded, "I was just a trouble maker when I was little."

Shana smiled and rested her chin against her legs. "Keira... do you think things will ever be quiet around here?" She asked, absent-mindedly. It was true, nothing around here ever seemed to stay peaceful for long. This town was truly an energetic place.

Keira shrugged. "I doubt it. Though things have been realitively peaceful, things will be right back in a chaotic mess in a week or two." She said, toying with a strand of hair.
"I don't think it's ever been so quiet around this place in a long time."

Shana smiled and leaned back onto her hands as they sat on the warm stage. She had gotten used to hanging around the club in the past few weeks - being the CEO meant that she needed to make constant apperences after all. She loved to be in there anyway - the stuffy air reminded her of a pub back home. A normal hangout for the teenagers of her time... she could rememebr every detail of that musty place - before it was burned down.
Shana continued to smile as she stood up, holding the mic. in her right hand, "I wouldn't have it any other way. It'll get boring if we don't have constant action around here - right?" She asked, the smile playing accross her face.
"How about this - Keira, do you want to sing something with me? People will be able to hear it outside and maybe we can generate a little traffic into this palce."

Keira shrugged and stood up. "Sure." Was all she said.

(Woah! Keira, you and I have the same Avatar-person!! This is creepy XD)
Shana smiled at Keira, and then flipped on the power to her microphone. She tapped the mic twice, checking the volume. When she was satisfied, Shana walked over toward the soundboard and grabbed a CD from the stack on the chair that sat just offstage. She smiled as she picked up one of her own mixes, and then popped it into the soundboard's CD player.
The music started, softly, then it began into a beautiful soft song ~
I know that you're hiding things Using gentle words to shelter me Your words were like a dream But dreams could never fool me Not that easily
I acted so distant then Didn't say goodbye before you left But I was listening You'll fight your battles far from me Far too easily
"Save your tears 'cause I'll come back" I could hear that you whispered as you walked through that door But still I swore to hide the pain when I turn back the pages Shouting might have been the answer What if I'd cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart? But now I'm not afraid to say what's in my heart
Though a thousand words Have never been spoken They'll fly to you Crossing over the time and distance holding you Suspended on silver wings
And a thousand words One thousand confessions Will cradle you Making all of the pain you feel seem far away They'll hold you forever
The dream isn't over yet Though I often say I can forget I still relive that day You've been there with me all the way I still hear you say
"Wait for me, I’ll write you letters" I could see how you stammered with your eyes to the floor But still I swore to hide the doubt when I turn back the pages Anger might have been the answer What if I'd hung my head and said that I couldn't wait? But now I'm strong enough to know it's not too late -
'Cause a thousand words Call out through the ages They'll fly to you Even though we can't see, I know they're reaching you Suspended on silver wings
Oh, a thousand words One thousand embraces Will cradle you Making all of your weary days seem far away They'll hold you forever ~
Shana smiled at Keira, handed her the microphone in the measures of intrumental and whispered - "Here comes our duet - you ready?"

Keira nodded, praying to the gods that she was better at Kareoke than she believed she was.

(I actually just borrowed it form my friend last night - so I made the banner this morning XD I loved it SO much, Aeris is my all-time favorite character from the entire FF series. Ahh... I loved it XD Cloud = Awesome.)
Shana smiled and nodded to Keira when she felt her stiffen a bit. The music's tempo increased, and Shana nodded to the screen above them. The words had been there the whole time, but, since Shana had actually written the song, she hadn't needed them yet. "I'll take the accompaniment, all you need to do is sing the melody." Shana said in a comforting voice.
The music stilled, and the next verse began. This was Keira's.
Oh, a thousand words Have never been spoken They'll fly to you They'll carry you home and back into my arms Suspended on silver wings
And a thousand words Call out through the ages They'll cradle you Turning all of the lonely years to only days They'll hold you forever
The music slowed, as the song ended. Shana and Keira would sing the last words as one, the notes mixing with the six people who had wondered into the Club. Apparently their music had indeed enticed people to come inside.
A thousand word....

Keira grinned as the song ended. "Shana, that was beautiful."
