Facing Facts - To Divide and Conquer Part II

[Eli]

Eli stood in the barn, pacing. He was waiting for someone to show up. Anyone. He had a message he needed sent out, and wanted to control the situation.

His metal plated boots sunk slightly into the soft dirt in the barn. His jacket hid his 6 daggers on his belt, and the sleeves of his jackey hid the metal plates along his arm that extended into the wrapping of his padded glove. It also concelaed the fact he was wearing a flak jacket underneath. He may have been dressed for battle, but he really didn't want one. He wanted to hammer out some facts. He paced and waited for the next person to enter, whoever that may be.

[Cassiel]

Cassiel walked into the barn in panther form. She knew Eli was in there and wanted to make sure he had back-up if he needed it. Jumping up to the loft she said to him, Don't mind me, I will just hide up here in case you need me.

[Eli]

Eli looked at her and nodded, but he still needed someone to send out on an errand for him.

[kaone]

Kione walked into the barn after he had seen Cassiel walk in in her panther form. He was going in to apologize to her about the engagement party. When he walked in he saw Eli, and didn't see Cassiel anymore.

[Eli]

Eli watched Kione come in the barn. "Kione, how are you doing today?" Eli asked, trying to sound pleasant. "I need you to do me a favor. Bring Liliona here, I need to talk to her about the trial. I don't know if you heard or not," Eli said, projecting his voice loud enough for Cassiel to hear, "but I am on trial because of Liliona. I used our gems and some help to bind Kane's powers. Liliona tried to stop me, but she says I was stealing from the temple. Even though I took all the stones back, and in perfect condition. So I need you to find her so I can give her some information she might like to have for the trial. Would you be willing to do that for me?" he asked.

[kaone]

Kione nodded "I am willing to bring her back here, as long as you promise me that you won't hurt her, and if I can come back with her."

[Eli]

Eli nodded. He had nothing to hide, so why not. "I'm not here to fight, I am here to talk. As for coming back with her, I don't mind if you bring everybody here back with you, all I intend to do is talk, not fight."

[kaone]

Kione nodded to Eli and walked out of the barn without saying another word.

About 15 minutes later, Kione walked back in with Liliona following close behind him.

Selene followed Liliona and Kione in as well, her eyes looked tired and the way she walked showed it, but she wasn't going to let Liliona do something that might mess with the trial. They had to win it.

[Eli]

"Ahhh, the proescution team, which now has no leg to stand on." Eli paused for a moment, realizing they had no idea what he meant, then continued. "See, it is Liliona's fault I am on trial. And with Aslin as judge, we run into a findamental problem. Aslin has to be one of my witnesses. If she isn't, the trial is a mistrial from the start. Aslin has vital information that will clear me of any wrong doing in this situation. So, we need to figure out what a fair way to handle this situation is. Aslin can't be the judge and witness, now can she?"

[Cassiel]

Cassiel jumped down from the loft, changing forms as she hit the ground. "Well how 'bout Akando. He has nothing to lose or gain, not matter which side wins."

[Liliona Kinsey]

Liliona looked at Eli and Cassiel, she had no intentions on talking to Eli nor Cassiel until it was over. She just shood there with a raised eyebrow.

[Eli]

"I don't think you understand the severity of what I am saying. All Aslin has to do is answer one question for me, truthfully, and the trial is over and I walk free. You look like a fool in front of everyone, Liliona. And even if I get kicked out of Order, I am strong enough to start my own group, which will make Order weak and helpless in the grand scheme of things. Half of Order will go with me. You know I'm right. But also, don't forget, I got you into Order. I wasn't going to help you at all, only Rain was supposed to come over to Order. But see, this one question is what will destroy your case. Your goal now is to find out what that question is and how you can counter the truthful answer.. Now I bid you good luck," Eli said, smiling.

Selene stepped forward in front of Liliona, her arms crossed and staring daggers at Eli. "Save it, Elian," She said, her gaze not faltering, "I'll find a new judge that has no involvement in this trial. As for you and your mightiness, you can shove it up where the sun don't shine. You can't offer alot of the followers the protection the gods can. Not to include you'd become a threat against three gods, and you're only a Shifter." Selene shook her head, "People will be afraid of you, they won't want to join you. The gods can't meddle in other people's lives, as I'm sure you're aware, but you can. Making you someone that the followers will be afraid of out of fear for their futures and what you might do to them."

[Eli]

Eli shrugged. "So is that all you take me for, is someone who will bully people into following him? Don't think so. I won't force anybody to do anything, even if it means I am on my own. And the gods aren't offering anybody protection. You can attest to that the most, Selene. And as you might know also, I am not a threat without serious outside help. I have no inherant magic, except to shift, and any magic I perform is with the aide and guidance of others who have the magic I use. And I am aware that I can meddle in people's lives, but only when they give me reason to." Eli paused, making sure he caught all of her points. "Oh, and you don't get to pick the judge, that has to be decided on by both sides. And right now I am acting as my own lawyer, until I find someone that will be my lawyer." Eli turned to walk away. "Are we done yet, I got somewhere to go and someone to see."
