The brisk wind blew cold as the night drug on. It was around midnight now, and Tate had been wondering aimlessly around the forgotten town for hours. His absence, so long. The town, completely different. Almost all the familiar faces were gone, the one's he shared so many memories with. Some great, some not so much. Kione, his first true friend here, gone, and with him, another close friend left, Liliona.
Then he met another, Keira. But apparently now she was gone with her mother, Selene, as well. The jokester of the town, Tamuril, gone. A close friend that he went through many struggles with, Kiya, gone.
All those people being gone just blew his mind when he got back into town. But then as he thought about it more, he realized, apparently the time of their life that they needed here has been completed. Their destiny was to move on to some other place, and so it happened that way. Although it was sad, because now Tate could only think of one true friend that he had left in this town, Cassiel. And he had tried to get into touch with her many times before, but she never seemed like she was there, though he knew that she wouldn't leave the town.
As his feet continued to tread over the endless dirt paths, he felt them suddenly skid to a stop, and his heart sank slightly as one of the most memorable places in Night World came into view; the barn.
Kione had told him of many memories that he had there, like the first time that he met Cassiel, and many other things like that too. And Tate had had some very interesting memories of his own there as well. That is where Cassiel helped him remember his past for the first time; the place where he learned that he was not only a shapeshifter, but he was also half witch. Though he had never really been able to tap into any powers, without the help of Cassandria's necklace that he got on an adventure with Kiya.
Although he kind of dreaded going into the dilapidated old barn because it would bring back so many of the memories of people that he would most likely never see again, his feet seemed to head that direction anyway. He pushed open the creaky wooden door, and stepped in, closing the door behind him.
"Wow."
Was all that he could manage to say. There were so many memories in this place, it was just hard to be here. After being gone for so long, then coming back to the town being completely different. Everything about the barn was exactly the same, but in his mind, it would never be the same. He could never have those memories again, they were all in the past. He would never see almost all of those people again. It was like his life in Night World was beginning anew.
