Alohilani ran through the trees in her fox form, trying to out run her brother. I'm sick of him. She thought to herself as she shifted into her human form. She threw her dark hair over her shoulder, catching the sun that poked through the trees. She turned her green eyes to the sky and smiled.
Kalani ran as fast as he could, but found is sister no where. Shifting into his human form he cursed his sister out loud, mentally noting to chew her out for it later. He looked around, but heard nor saw anything except trees.

The silvery-white wolf lay in a hollow under an oak tree. He was tired and resting after a long, long run. Acorns were strewn about him, but the wolf knew better than to eat them. He had no intention of getting sick or killing himself; there was so much more of the world to see and he'd only just begun.
Much larger than a mundane wolf, the shifter, in his wolf form was nearly the size of a pony and as silver as the moon at night. His eyes were a vibrant blue not found in the usual wolf.
He was just dozing off with his black nose nestled in his thick tail, when he heard footsteps. Not moving a muscle, his eyes opened and shifted towards the direction of the sound and his furry ears perked.

Alohilani walked through the forest when she saw a large wolf through the trees. She shifted forms and darted around quickly, nestling herself into a tree and looking down at the wolf from above.
Kalani heard something large moving and hoped it was Alohilani. He shifted again and ran towards it, but stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the wolf. Sh*t.

When the woman shifted into a fox, the wolf quickly rose to all fours in alarm. He couldn't be sure that this wasn't an attack of some sort. He lowered his head and backed his ears, tail at half mast. Ready to run at a moment's notice, the wolf tracked the fox as it climbed to a low branch in a tree opposite his own den.
At the approach of a man, the wolf skinned lips back from shiny white teeth and growled deeply.

Alohilani saw the man that was her brother and sighed, switching forms, and dropped from the tree. "Kalani, you dip," She said aggravated, "Shift!"
Kalani shifted forms and looked at the giant wolf, ~Oh this is so much better!~ He sent to Alohilani.
Alohilani shifted her own form and ran in front of the wolf, so she was between her brother and the wolf, she barred her own small but sharp teeth at it.

Now faced with two foxes, the wolf raised his head and brought his ears forward. This made him look even bigger. He relaxed his lips and watched the pair curiously. His experience made him wary, but he was sure that he could defend himself against two foxes -- why, he wouldn't be much of a wolf if a couple of little foxes could best him!
Tentatively, he sent a tendril of thought their way ::Are you enemies?::
Hopefully these two weren't head-blind. He really didn't want to shift in front of them, but that would be the only way he could climb the tree behind him. Killing two other shifters, even fox-shifters, didn't much appeal to him.

Alohilani stopped and looked at him curiously, Enemies? No. Kalani looked from behind his sister, and his ears perked forwards, hearing the conversation as well. He moved in front of her and looked at the wolf.

Refusing to let himself be lulled into complacency, the white wolf asked ::You are shifters? So am I. Will you shift so that we may talk?::

Alohilani agreed and Shifted, as did Kalani. Kalani shot a glare at Alohiliani and leaned against a tree. Alohilani threw her dark hair over her shoulder and looked at the wolf. "Well?"

::If you will excuse me for a moment?:: The wolf's mental voice was amused.
He trotted around behind the wide-boled oak and there was a sort of a dull percussive thump. Then a most unusual man emerged from the tree's shadow.
Very tall and very silver was the first thing that would come to anyone's mind upon their introductory view of Lycari. Pale and slim, with broad shoulders and long, silvery hair, he almost shone in his creamy buckskins. Colorful beads clicked in his hair as he moved and he was far too beautifully handsome to be true.
"Nice to meet you," the shifter said affably, "Name's Lycari. Who do I have the pleasure of greeting?"

Alohilani's eyes brightend, and she showed her pearly whites at him, offering her hand, "Alohiliani Haruki." Her dark eyes twinkled with excitement as she looked at all aspects of the man. Kalani pushed off the tree with his shoulder and walked between the two, knocking Alohilani's hand away, "Kalani Haruki, Alohilani's OLDER brother." Alohilani glared at her brother behind his back as he tried to eb the protective older brother. Kalani didn't like the guy, but only because Alohilani had an attraction to him. "Mind explaining yourself?"

Lycari gave the duo an engaging smile and he dropped his prooffered hand.
"What is there to explain?" He said lightly, "I was having a snooze and then you were here. I didn't know you. How on earth am I supposed to discover what your intentions are towards me if I don't ask?"
He took a deep breath and glanced up at the sky that showed through the leaves overhead. Then he just barely caught a yawn behind his hand as he looked back at his new acquaintances.
"I've been running for quite a few hours so you'll have to excuse my manners. I'm a little bit tired."
Underneath Lycari's affable manner, a shrewd intelligence studied the situation.
"Are there many other shifters in this woods? I'd like to meet them, seeing as I'll probably be here for a while." He ran a hand through his silver hair, making the beads fall against each other in a clatter. He frowned. "Sisters!" He huffed.

Alohilani smiled and walked up beside her brother, "Yes, I wish I had one instead of him!" Alohilani threw a nasty look at her brother, "He won't trust me to take care of myself." Kalani glared at her, "Well when you run off like you did, what other choice of the matter do I have?" Alohilani rolled her eyes and looked at Lycari, "I don't know how many other Shifters there are, this nutball is the only one I've been around."

"Just the two of you, then?" Lycari noted, "Any towns or inns, something less chillly and more comfortable than tree roots to stay in around here?"
A wind blew up at that moment and the shifter felt the lack of his heavy fur coat. His soft buckskins were comfortable, but he definitely needed a coat for these climes.
"Do you have any stores? Someplace that trades in dry goods and clothing?"

Alohilani shrugged and shook her head, "I don't know. This is as far as we've gotten. We've been... er... traveling a lot, and we haven't stumbled upon a town yet." Kalani nodded, "This forest is the most we've seen."
