Cassandra LIVES!

[cassandra]

Walking into the club, Cassandra nodded to the bartender, who looked as if he'd seen a ghost, and hung up her sweater. Taking a brief glimpse in the mirror she fussed with her hair a moment, decided it didn't matter, and told the bartender she was ready to take over. Nodding at her, dumbly, he turned and almost ran out of the club, not looking back. Laughing to herself, Cassandra though, "Wonder what Kaden's reaction will be when he gets here?"

[Kaden]

It didn't surprise him too much that the bartender had gotten there before him, he'd been taking his sweet time to get to work for a long time now. Not like it mattered too much anyway. But this was different, and the wizard saw it as soon as he walked in. Well, saw her anyway. His jaw dropped for a visible second before he composed himself.

"...Cassandra." Kaden said in complete surprise when he found his voice. "You-You're back."

[cassandra]

Hearing his voice sent a sharp thrill through her, almost a pain. "Hey lover, miss me?" she asked him, with most of her old attitude.

[Kaden]

Blinking a couple times to make sure this wasn't a hallucination or anything, he cleared his eyes...to find that she still stood there. His look of dumb shock disappeared. "Miss you?" Kaden asked incredulously, with a slight tone of budding anger in his voice. "You just...DISAPPEARED! Where the hell have you been?"

[cassandra]

"You mean, where did I go after I dug my way out of the grave in the cemetery? Oh, and by the way, next time someone wants to kill me, maybe you should remind them that I'm immortal. That means, I don't die!!"

[Kaden]

The rollercoaster of emotion took another dip as he went from excited to worried. "Kill you? Someone tried to kill you? You mean you've been buried this whole time?"

[cassandra]

"No, not the whole time silly! I'm immortal but I do have to eat and...things. Yes, someone tried to kill me, in fact, thought they had. Your good buddy Tam. She didn't know I'm a shifter, apparently. After I clawed my way out of the grave, I decided I had a couple of choices. Just leave. Or stay and have a constant battle on my hands every second of every day. Since you had some unfinished business to attend to, I chose the former. I came around every now and then, to see what was going on. Handy being a shifter, great for spying. Since it seems your business is now finshed, on that end anyways, I came back, to finish ours. If we have any." Turning as she said this, she waited on a customer and rang up the sale.

[Kaden]

The wizard couldn't help but smirk. It was impossible to even attempt to stay upset. "And of course you figured the best way to do that would be to um....steal your job back?" Kaden joked. "I guess that works. I'm myself again by the way. Not that you knew me before my possession to know what I was like, but just letting you know that I don't have as much issues as I had before." He realized he was rambling, as he found himself doing when talking to her.

"Anyway, yes I definitely would say we have business to finish."

[cassandra]

"Glad to know that one of your friends conking me on the head with a shovel and burying me doesn't upset you. It kind of did me, but then I guess I'm just petty. Steal my job back? I didn't quit, and I wasn't fired, so technically, it was still mine."

[Kaden]

"Friends? Um...Well see that's a funny story. See, in her own words, she doesn't know me anymore." Kaden replied with a shrug, finally walking behind the bar. "So I'd say we're pretty far from being friends right now. And of course it upsets me. I could have lost you and I wouldn't have even known it." He added, his voice gradually softening as if the gravity of what he'd said was only just sinking in.

[cassandra]

Seeing the look in his eyes Cassandra exhaled for the first time in 6 months, feeling as if a weight had been lifted off her. "Nothing but death could cause you to lose me Kaden.....and I don't die."

[Kaden]

"Thank God." He whispered to pretty much himself. Starting to walk to the back room of the club to get ready for actual work, he stopped himself in the doorway and leaned on it, looking over at her. "So I'm guessing you're gonna want to find her, right?"

[cassandra]

"Find her? I'm throwing a party and thanking God, or whatever deity you choose to worship, that she's gone!" Cassandra said with venom dripping from every word. "I'm content to live my life here, with you, in peace. For everyone's sake, I hope she's as content wherever she is."

[Kaden]

Not letting on that he had no idea Tam left, Kaden just laughed. "Careful, you just might kill me with all the poison floating through the air right now. I can barely breathe in here!" He called as he walked to the back, leaving the door open. "So how was life in that other place you lived?" His voice carried from the room.

[cassandra]

"Kadenless. Which is another word for sucky, just so you know" she called back to him.
