Revelations

[Kaden]

Ignoring the fact that she'd lied to him, for now at least, Kaden focused on the question part of her comments. "He must feel like you pose a threat to him somehow, Narym. Honestly, I don't blame him. He tried to kill Cassandra and I, and will probably try to kill us again. In his mind, the very last thing he needs is for us to make friends with someone with healing powers."

" You have a point," Narym agreed, yawning. " But if I don't get a decent nights, uninterrupted sleep I'll be no good to anyone!" She looked down into her empty glass. " What do you put in this brew, it's potent!"
She stood and stretched. "I'm going to go out of town a little and bed down with Fallow. I'll feel safer there!" She looked at Lily. " I know you don't want to move from the inn, but I'm really worried about you. Especially now you've told us someone is following you." She saw that stubborn look again and sighed. " Ok, ok," she said, " how about Fallow finds you a spot in a nice dark place in the morning so you can sleep safely? I'd feel so much happier."

Lily resisted the urge to be stubborn and agreed with Narym.

"Your probably right I could do with some decent sleep as I was rudely awakened at an ungodly hour this morning" she said and winked at Narym.

"I'm really glad we managed to get things cleared up between us" she said to Cassandra " Even if our conversation seems to have raised as many questions as it has answered "

Lily didn't think that now was the time to mention to Narym that dragons were the only things in the world that actually frightened her and took a deep breath.

"I'm looking forward to working for you both " she addressed to Kaden and Cassandra. "Narym maybe you could come and hang out here for a while when i start work and when the club closes we could put our heads together and work out where we go from here "

Lily stood up and cast a sideways glance at Fallow , putting on a brave face she said "Lead the way"

[cassandra]

Sensing Lily's unease at the sleeping arrangement, Cassandra spoke up and said, "Kaden I had been living in the backroom here...we recently bought a house...so that frees up that room...it's quite comfortable...and you're both...or one of you...are welcome to stay there if you'd rather?"

[narym]

" That's good of you, that would be really great!" Narym walked to the door. " In that case, I'll just go out and check on Fallow and I'll be back."
With a cheerful wave she left the room.

Lily could have kissed Cassandra at that precise moment. "That would be great thanks " she said and cast a sideways glance at Fallow she was sure he knew that he terrified her.

As Narym turned in for the night Lily turned to Cassandra "You have been really great, first a job and now somewhere to crash, I guess I'm going to have to work extra hard tomorrow" she said and smiled.

[cassandra]

"It really makes me feel better knowing someone is here looking after things. I'm glad to have met both of you...and to have hired you...I don't know if I've told you that, but I am..more than you know...At least I don't feel so isolated in it anymore" Cassandra said sincerely.

[lilyrose]

Lily could sense a sadness in Cassandra that she could identify with.

"I know what its like to feel alone " she said "Ive felt that way for far too long, despite the trouble I seemed to have walked right into I'm glad i came to Night world ... I'm glad to have met you all "

Despite feeling tired she was loathed to leave "How about a nightcap before bed?" she suggested.

[cassandra]

"I'm always up for that girlie! Another shot?" Cassandra asked.

[lilyrose]

"You read my mind " said Lily and smiled "Make mine a double"

Lily relaxed in her chair and tried to remember the last time she had felt so relaxed. 'Maybe Night World isn't going to be so bad 'she thought to herself.

As Cassandra grabbed a bottle of vodka Lily asked "So how long have you lived here in Night World , you seem to be doing really well for yourself, nice club... nice fiancee' " she added grinning.

[cassandra]

"Well, I just work here..Kade is the owner...and I've been in Night World for almost a year now. No arguments on the nice fiance part, though! Kaden is...well...Kaden is my life" Cassandra said simply. "I can't say that I won him under the most honorable of circumstances...and I worry that someday mean ole Karma will bite me right in the butt over that one...but...I fell like a ton of bricks for him the first time I laid eyes on him." Cassandra said with a smile...reliving the memories.

Turning to Lily she said, "I can't tell you how nice this is...having someone to actually talk to about things...I have my friend Fiona..but she's not around much lately...personal issues.."

[lilyrose]

"Karma is a bitch " said Lily laughing "But from what I have seen you don't have anything to worry about there, Kaden seems as smitten with you as you are with him"

Lily smiled remembering a time long ago that she had been as caught up in her feelings as Cassandra.

"Well Night World has been lucky for me so far as relationships go, who knows maybe there is someone here for me "

Raising her glass she said "To new relationships"

[Kaden]

The wizard snickered a bit at the decidedly female conversation that he knew as just gonna get worse. "It's ok, you two. I'm not here at all. Matter of fact, I'm gonna take my leave too anyways, leave you ladies to discuss more important matters." Kaden teased.

[cassandra]

"Oh! Baby, I'm sorry! I guess the conversation did get a little girlie girl there, didn't it? Or am I embarassing you by talking about how I stole you?" Cassandra teased.

[Kaden]

"Not at all. Just need to get home and wait for you. We need to have a talk, and I think you know what about." He said, his voice having not changed too noticeably but with a slight firm edge to it.
