It Has Begun

[Kaden]

"Never doubted it for a second, Narym." Kaden replied, turning back to the weapons as she walked back into the club. Frowning a bit at all the weapons being on the ground, he quickly fashioned some racks out of ice and began to place all the weapons on them. It was then that he remembered he needed to get back to the shop before they went any further. "Damn, I forgot my scythe." He cursed his own absentmindedness.

Narym looked for Lily at the bar and frowned when she couldn't see her. Now where's she gone with my pint? she thought.
She walked into the back room and saw Cassandra talking quietly with Cassiel and Dyra sitting alone, lost in thought. She resumed her position in the corner and spent her time examining her new weapons under the light. They were beautifully crafted, she hadn't used such weapons for a long, long time, back when she was more warrior than healer.
Narym began to worry about Lily. Where was she? And where was the captain? She was begining to get a bad feeling about this. Now she was back in town, she was unable to locate anyone again. She sat silently and held out her hand. After a little concentration, she was able to call a small orb onto the palm of her hand, inside which lightening flashed. She breathed a sigh of relief as it grew and faded, as she wanted. " That's a relief," she murmured to herself, " I haven't lost everything."
She wondered if she should mention the captain to the Wizard and waited for him to come back into the room.

[Kaden]

He contemplated leaving it for a short while, before thinking better. It's my second best weapon, I'd be a fool to leave it behind. Kaden thought to himself, giving the weapon racks another once-over before re-entering the club. Alledyra was there, he hadn't seen her when he left the first time. He thought a bit about whether he should announce that he was leaving, but thought better of it rationalizing that he wouldn't be gone long.

Narym caught a glimpse of Kaden and made her way casually over to him.
" Um Kaden, " she began hesitantly, " about the Captain."

[Kaden]

"The...Captain...?" Kaden asked, confused for a moment. The proverbial light bulb went off pretty soon though. "Oh you mean...um...Vlad! Yeah, what about him?"

[narym]

Narym lowered her voice. " He's gone missing." She hoped she didn't look as awkward as she felt. " When I told Fallow, he reminded me that Vlad is human. So it occurred to us that he might be doing a recce of his own, thinking that he might avoid being detected by the sorceror, as he has no magic." She sighed and then voiced her real worry. " Or....he might be welcome in the castle, if you understand me."

[Kaden]

"Oh sh*t." Kaden cursed for the second time that day, not even trying to keep it down. "He doesn't even know about the physical security outside the castle, part of the reason we have to use this underground route! Great, so it's either he tries that and gets caught, or he's a traitor and our whole plan's ruined anyway. This is just beautiful."

[narym]

Narym put her hand on his arm and spoke quietly as she sensed eyes on them.
" We don't know yet. I just can't find him. I've lost that skill here in town." Worry began to gnaw at her. " And I can't sense Lily." She tried to stay calm, but the Wizards anger unnerved her.
" Does Cass have a back up plan?"

[Kaden]

Taking deep breaths before the room could start getting cold, he shook his head. "There is no backup plan. There's only one feasible entrance into that place. Any other plan would have involved that entrance anyway. If he's turned on us, then all they'll have to do is guard that entrance and we're all dead when we go in. And you can't tell me you think Lily's with him." Kaden practically pleaded.

[narym]

Naryms eyes widened. " No, no...she couldn't be!" Truth be told that had never even occurred to her. She pulled herself to her full height. No, never.
" No," she asserted," Lily would never betray us. I've been training her. I've glimpsed her mind. It's not in her, I know it's not."
" But I warned everyone about him. We trusted him too easily."

[Kaden]

"He was the only one here who I hadn't met before. This is like straight out of a damn movie..." He muttered, aware that it indeed was exactly like a particular movie. "Ok, I believe you on Lily. I don't - well I hope you're right on what you sensed or didn't sense in her. But she seemed to trust him though."

[narym]

" Lily wasn't thinking with her brain!" Narym cursed. " Look, I'm going out of town right now to see if I can sense where she is. If she's in trouble...well, I'll fix it. But if he's done anything to her...I'll fix that too!".
She looked unblinking into Kadens eyes. " I will fix it."

[Kaden]

"I trust you will, but Narym...I'm begging you not to go near that castle. If you find them near the town or on the outskirts or whatever...hell, anywhere not near that place, it'd be fine. But please don't go near that castle and get yourself caught." Kaden asked.

[narym]

" Understood". Narym tried to smile but didn't have it in her. " I will be back as soon as I can."
She had a sudden thought. " Fallow will be able to relay any messages from me to your mind, if you're ok with that?"

[Kaden]

"That's perfect actually. Be careful." He said.
