It Has Begun

Narym took Lilys crossbow and slung it over her back along with her new one. I'll take care of it," she promised. She took her silver handled knife from her boot and offered it to her friend. " This blade is very sharp. It might be an idea to slit the side of your skirt to help you should you need to run!"

[lilyrose]

Lily took the knife and grinned "And there was me thinking you wanted me to put more clothes on " she joked putting a slit up the side of her skirt to expose her long boots. Handing back the knife she took a long look at her friend , hoping deep down that this wasn't going to be the last time they laughed and joked together. "I want to thank you Narym " she said "Thankyou for looking after me and trying to protect me , I just wanted you to know incase....." she trailed off unable to finish the sentence.

Narym stepped forward and put a finger on Lilys lips. " Hush," she whispered. " Words are not needed."
She looked around her. Everyone was gathering their weapons and packs together. She felt a calm descend on her. She was now in warrior mode. She looked deeply into her friends eyes. " Remember, use the mantra only if your need is great. The sorceror will be able to detect the magic." She straightened and picked up her pack. " The moment you feel anything wrong, send to Fallow. He is linked to you now and he will tell me. I'll come get you." She saluted. " May the gods protect you, little Lily," she said and smiled warmly.

"Thankyou Narym " said Lily picking up her stuff and straightening her back feeling surprisingly confident "I can do this cant I?" she said almost to herself. She looked around the room taking in the hustle and bustle "I suppose I should introduce myself to Eli as we are going in together " she said to Narym "Any ideas who I am introducing myself to"

Narym looked around the room. " Um...let's see. I haven't been formally introduced myself but I know him by sight. Oh!" She hadn't noticed that he had shifted. " Yes, over there." She pointed to a large raven, with sleek blue black feathers, perched on the back of a chair near Cassiel. She grinned. " And it's an odd looking bunch we are, that's for sure!"

[lilyrose]

Lily laughed "That we are " she agreed "But I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of us tonight I can tell you!" She looked at Narym "Do you think we should go and introduce ourselves?"

[narym]

" Good idea," Narym agreed. " Rule number two is know your enemy, but it's also a good idea to know your friends too!" She stepped to one side. " After you!"

Lily made her way across the room towards Eli. Waiting for a break in the conversation she pushed herself forwards and said "Hi Eli? I'm Lilyrose and this is Narym. It seems that you and I are going in first together and I thought I should atleast come and introduce myself"

[Kratos Cage]

Kratos stood up from kneeling, where he had been praying for the safety of all of the group. Picking up his sword and placing it in its sheath on his back. "Im ready!"

[Kaden]

Kaden had taken a deep breath as Cassandra started to speak. There was only one other time he'd completely and totally needed to be at his best. The only difference was that this time, his life wasn't the only one that hung in the balance. Looking around the club, he tried to wrap his mind around the fact that if he made just one mistake, it could cost everyone their lives. I hate responsibility. The wizard chuckled to himself. Suppose the only thing to do is not screw up. Simple.

Slipping his scythe through the strap on his back and tightening it, Kaden decided that he was ready as well. "Here we go." He muttered under his breath.

[cassandra]

Reaching the grove of trees on schedule Cassandra sat her backpack down and sank down beside it. The sun was just peaking over the horizon, and she couldn't help but wonder how many of them would see it rise the next morning. Smiling at Kaden as he sat down beside her, she reached over and took his hand. "How you feeling baby?"

[narym]

They were finally on their way. Introductions were over. Packs slung over shoulders and swords loosened in their scabbards. Narym, used to military marches in the open to known destinations, smiled to herself as she and the rest of the band of determined raiders made their way stealthily to the agreed meeting place. These young people certainly knew how to be quiet, even tho they were obviously keyed up. She had kept her eyes open and her senses alert, hoping to detect the captain, but that ability was still lost to her.
Lily had walked beside her, lost in thought. Knowing how nervous her friend must be, Narym hadn't spoken. In truth, she had little to say. Lily knew the risks and was willing to do her bit. Even tho Narym was very worried for her friend, she was also very proud. Lily knew this. That was enough.
They reached the grove of trees and found a spot to rest. Narym sat crossed legged on the ground and bowed her head, communing with her God. She had much to talk about. Much to ask.

As Lily walked she had gone over and over the plan in her head trying to commit every tiny detail to memory. She didn't feel much like conversation and was glad that Narym appeared to feel the same, she was worried that should she have to make small talk it wouldn't take her friend long to work out just how worried and nervous she was.
As the sun began to rise Lily was glad to see that they had reached the resting place Cassandra had spoken of the night before. Finding herself a quiet spot she sat down and practiced the mantra that Narym had taught her. Finally feeling she had it down as well as she was going to she leaned back against a tree and closed her eyes.

[Kaden]

"Slightly nervous." Kaden admitted softly, looking over at her with a sad grin on his face. "But otherwise good. What about you?"

[cassandra]

"Honestly? I've never been more afraid in my life. The good thing about the way I lived before here was...the less you have...the less you can lose...you know?"
