It Has Begun

[narym]

Narym tried for humour. " Ah, don't be worrying about me, handsome! I've been looking after myself for a long, long time. But don't tell Fallow, he thinks he's been doing it!"
She touched his arm once more, gathered up her new weapons and quietly left the room.

[Kaden]

He just smiled back. It disappeared when Narym left the club. Kaden saw through the facade she put up; it was something he did more than enough to know when someone else was doing it. He did admire her resolve though. Returning his thoughts to his scythe, he left the club as well, heading to the weapon shop.

[Kratos Cage]

Kratos quietly walks in. He looks around the room and sits in a chair not wanting to interrupt anyone. He sees Cassandra. "How are you my sister?"

[Cassiel]

"I'm going to do see what I can do about weapons actually." Cassiel said to Cassandra. "I will leave you to your thoughts." She smiled as Cassandra and impulsively gave her a quick hug before heading to the alley door.

As she walked outside, Cassiel caught the end of the conversation between Kaden and Narym. Whatever was going on sounded pretty bad, but Cassiel didn't want to make anyone else aware. She would ask Kaden when he got back from wherever he was going.

Outside Cassiel examined the weapons. She didn't want to seem threatening, especially when trying to seduce the king, but Cassiel knew she had to protect herself afterwords. She had the daggers in her boots, but those were not going to do much. As she scanned the alley, a staff caught her eye. It was made of black ebony wood and had a line of dark green running though it, and was polished until it shone. Cassiel picked it up and was surprised at how light it felt. As she examined the length of the staff, Cassiel noticed runes carved into it. She figured there must be some magic worked into to to make it feel light. It was perfect. Cassiel brought it back inside and found an area clear of tables and chairs to practice a little with it.

[Alledyra]

Watching Narym and Cassiel enter the room from the alley with weapons, Dyra decided to follow suit...after all, it wouldn't hurt to have a bit of cold steel in her hand. She might even get the chance to use it if her gift failed her...standing smoothly, she walked out and started a slight runthrough of the weapons carefully racked. After a few minutes, her selection was down to two random daggers that had caught her eye...one a long thin blade the color of blue ice that glittered enticingly, and the other a plain medium length S dagger. The cool blue of the first dagger seemed to shimmer slightly under her vision and the second had a leather handle that fit her hand almost perfectly...

Unable to decide between the two, she chose both, and looped their small holders into her belt...smiing easily, she stepped back into the room, and started towards her darkened table...

[lilyrose]

Lily walked into the club and made her way over to Cass "I'm sorry for running out on you there, it wont happen again " she said smiling weakly "I think we are going to have to make do without Vlad he seems to have disappeared"
Sighing deeply she took a seat "So back to business, what did I miss ?"

[Kaden]

Finally returning to the club, he was very glad to see Lily there as per the message he got from Fallow, but still a bit worried that Narym wasn't with her. Probably means Lily wasn't with Vlad. Which then means he's still unaccounted for. The wizard thought with a heavy sigh. He figured they could wait a while longer.

Meanwhile, the reason he left in the first place rested in his hand. It was his straight-handled scythe, now completely silver-plated instead of having a black handle. It's staff had an enchantment placed upon it to make it lighter, enabling Kaden to wield it in one hand. Its blade enjoyed the main modification though, it's usually smooth cutting edge was now serrated, giving it a deadly, shark's teeth look to it. It rested safely on his shoulder, blade-side up.

[blaine]

Blaine walked into the club and went and sat down at the table with Cassandra. "Sorry I'm late, but Fiona has filled me in on everything. So you want me to be the 2nd wave to enter the castle and make my way to the first floor and take out those guards. Then what?" Blaine asked.

[merlin]

"Merlin walked into the club, scoping everything out on his way to talk to Kaden. He was happily surprised to see new faces, especially since a few of them were female and hot!

"Sorry I'm late Kade. Fiona has briefed me on most of it I think, but do you want to go over the plan with me to make sure I understand? And dude, who is the chick in the leather with the blade?"

[Fiona]

Fiona walked in behind the guys and heard Merlin's question to Kaden. Looking over to see who he was referring to, she saw that it was Cassiel, and almost laughed at loud. Trust Merlin to zero in on Eli's woman. "His libido is going to get him killed yet!" Fiona thought to herself. Shaking her head and deciding she would be more than happy to let Kaden handle this one she went and sat down with Cassie and Blaine. Seeing an almost haunted expression in Cassie's eyes, Fiona didn't say a work, just reached out and put her hand on her friends arm and gave it a warm squeeze. With the understanding that was between them, she knew Cassie would know what she meant.

Looking over at Blaine, she gave a deep blush as she met his eyes. "Hi Lainey. I've missed you." She softly said.

[cassandra]

Seeing the looks that were passing back and forth between Blaine and Fiona Cassandra made up her mind that as soon as this raid was over, she was sitting Fiona down and having a nice, loooong, chat with her and getting the skinny on what was up between the two of them. Looking at Blaine she answered, "Then I want you to make your way down to the main floor where most of the fighting should be by this time. Unless Kaden has other plans for you. He'll be over in a minute, I'm sure." Cassandra had an overwhelming desire to just have the raid done with already. The tension and worrying were getting to her, and the strain showed on her face. The thought that these people, her family for heaven's sake, might die because they were fighting for her was just eating at her. She knew though, that there was no other way. None. If they didn't fight Melacham, and defeat him, then they were all doomed anyway. Malacham's plan for Night World was to use it, and the people who lived there, as a "magic bank". To make it where they could never leave, but rather be kept like cows...just drained of magic rather than milk. Shuddering at the mere thought of it, Cassandra made a vow to herself then and there that no matter what it took, no matter what it cost her, she would not let that happen. Night World was the only home she'd ever really had, because it was the only place she'd ever been totally accepted just for herself, as she was. The acceptance hadn't come easily, and so was all the more precious. Nor had any of the friendships she now had come easily, which again, made them all the more precious to her. No, if Melacham succeeded in his plans for Night World, it would be over her dead body.

Noticing Kratos for the first time Cassandra stood up and gave him a hug. "I'm sorry brother, I was losts in thought and didn't notice you at first. I'm.....well, as good as can be expected under the circumstances. We need to find a place to talk privately, there's a lot I have to tell you before we leave for the castle.

"Blaine? Fiona? I'd like you to meet Kratos Cage....my brother.."

[narym]

Narym entered the room quietly as Cass was introducing some people. She slipped into a seat next to Lily and tried to wait patiently for Cass to start the final planning session. Her eyes roved the room and caught a quick look from Kaden. Was that a scythe he was holding? Man, that was a serious weapon! She answered his unspoken question with a small shake of the head and a shrug. No, she hadn't found Vlad and no, she didn't know where he was. She mouthed 'I'm sorry'. Hell, she had promised to fix it. The damned captain had eluded her. She was angry with herself for taking her eye off the ball. All she could do was hope that he'd fallen down a hole or into the lake or something, and was not in the process of alerting the castle to the raid.
Damn, damn, damn, damn,damn.

[Kaden]

He almost let himself get happy when he saw Narym return, it meant she was safe and surely she found Vlad. A quick look from her told him he was only half right. With another sigh, he turned to Merlin. "Leather...?" Kaden asked, scanning the room before spotting Cassiel again. "Oh yeah...Um, she's sorta off limits Merl. Very off limits. You're gonna want to leave that one alone." He warned him. "And you and me are the first wave. We get a look at the guards' positions and start to freeze. Our goal's to get all of them in one strike, but if we don't, we've got a window of only a few seconds to get the rest."

[Cassiel]

Cassiel made her way to where everyone seemed to have gathered. She saw the looks that she was getting from some of the people she'd never officially met before and figured she should be close by to make it known that she was off limits.

As she got close, she heard what Kaden said to Merlin and laughed. "Don't worry, I don't bite unless you give me good reason to." She shifted into panther form and then back again, making sure the man knew she didn't mean that in a suggestive way.

Cassiel's thoughts turned to Eli. He should have been here by now. She touched her necklace and felt the connection was strong. Maybe he just wants to prepare where it's quiet, she thought.

[cassandra]

Hearing....and seeing...what Cassiel said to Merlin, plus the demo Cassandra gave her friend a thumbs up and mouthed "way to go girlie!". Staning up on her chair she did a quck head count to see who was missing...Eli...and Vlad.."Hmmmmm...I wonder if that's connected...if Mr Vlad has turned out to be a traitor and Eli has found out about it..." Cassandra gave a shudder and turned her mind away from it. Hopping down she went over to the group, gave Merlin a glare, (after all she had warned him herself!) and walked up behind Kaden and wrapped her arms around him...just needing to feel close to him for a moment before everything began.
