Star stood inside the barn in the shadows... her shifter form ate away at her wanting out... she paced silently her eyes shown a crystal blue.... she herd a voice not far off and shifting she walked out into the night to see who and were it came from... as she did a metle chain with sharp spikes came flying through the air at her and landed around her neck... as it tightend around her the spikes sank deep into her neck letting blood gently trickle down....
No! not here!.
she screamed pleadingly.... as it tightend still more and started to cut off her air ...

Cassiel had been restless all day. With all the wedding planning going on, she hadn't been out of the house other then to go to work, and check on the construction site for her new shop. She decided to go for a run. Before she left the house, she put her backpack on and then shifted.
Running through the forest, Cassiel was drawn to the area of the barn. Something wasn't right there, she felt some sort of a dark presence. The closer she got to it, the more she knew that there was something, or someone, dark at the barn. As she stepped out into the clearing she saw a horse laying on the ground. When she got closer, Cassiel realized that it was not a shifter at all but Star. <I'm coming Star!> Cassiel yelled mentally.
Cassiel scanned the area as she ran over to the shifter. She still felt the dark presence but her friend was more important. Shifting Cassiel quickly pulled her backpack off. She knelt down by Star's head and saw that a spiked, metal chain was tight around her neck. Noticing that the more Star struggled, the tighter it got, Cassiel said both outloud and mentally, "Star, calm down. The more you struggle the worse it will get. I am going to get this off of you."
Without waiting for a response, Cassiel put her hand between the chain and Star's throat, slipping her fingers between the spikes. She knew the shifter needed air and was hoping that having her hand would help at least a little. With her other hand, Cassiel started rummaging through her bag, looking for something that would get through the metal but not injure Star.

as she struggled she herd foot steps and with wide wild eyes looked up into Cassies face ..... "ca....sss....." she tryed to say her name but she was not getting enugh air and her hole body trimbled with shock as the chin dung into her...
an madden laugh came from the bushes but one could not pinpoint where it was comeing from.... " your waisting your time on the weake thing.... she is not worth your trubble...." he laughed more and the chain tightend more.....

Cassiel, already frustrated and angry at the situation, was made even angrier when the chain got tighter, bruising her fingers. When Star finally calmed down, Cassiel found what she was looking for. She didn't know it's effect on horses, so she decided to use the potion on the part of the chain where her hand was.
As she was about to bite the cork out of the potion bottle, she heard a voice. As the chain tightened even more, Cassiel realized she misplaced one of her fingers, and the spike was now digging inside of it. In pain, Cassiel retorted with the only thing she could come up with. "Bite me!" she growled, pulling the cork out of her mouth and dumping the contents on the chain. She chain began to loosen and she quickly pulled it off of Star's neck, knowing retribution would come. "Just hang in there Star," Cassiel murmered.

a gush of wind interred Stars lungs as her body still trembled horribly from the lack of air.... "run cass.... not... safe ...for...y..." her words died in her through as she saw a huge figure in the shadows looking straight at her...
"would be my pleasure to bit you... but i prefer horse..... " the voice was deep and evil....
Star struggled franticly to stand and once up stood between Cass and the figure in the shadows... with ears pined and a steady flow of blood trickling down her neck...

"Why don't you come out here and fight like a man instead of a coward," Cassiel said as she stepped out from behind Star. She knew that Star was injured and in no shape to fight. Cassiel was fiercely loyal to her friends and would defend them to the death. She also despised people who picked on those not as powerful as themselves.
"What kind of man are you to use your powers to injure an innocent person?" Cassiel shouted, trying to draw attention to herself instead of Star. "I know the code of majicks, and you must have no soul for what you do!"

a deep booming evil laughter came from the shadows... "you talk big for some one so weak as your self....besides.... i was mearly letting her know i was here..." he said tauntingly...
"Star.... it is time to come and play the old games we use to play!" he evil voice driffted to them ....
Star trimbled baddly from both nervosness and loss of strengh.... she drew slowly up beside Cass and said to him "no ...no father i do not think so" she said in a shaky voice...

Cassiel put her hand on Star's back, showing her that they were in this together and hopefully giving her some strength. "Oh, so you are a coward. Won't even face anyone except for the daughter you torture."
Already Cassiel was trying to think of a plan to fight this man. She had some dangerous potions in her pockets that were always there, but she had a feeling that wouldn't be enough. Cassiel felt her teeth changing inside her mouth, knowing that if it came to it, there was always her brutally sharp teeth and claws.

Star trimbled under Cass but not from her tuch....
"and who are you to take her place?" he asked in a growle.... his eyes glosed a bright yellow and was the only thing that could be seen...
Star turned her maw (mouth) to cassies ear " i know what your thinking... it wont work i ... i have tryed and wound up with broken bones..." she said in a wisper
a whip lashed through the air and hit Star squar on the head hard...."be quiet unless spoken to ... or have yo forgot what i taugh you?" he asked evily...

Cassiel was infuriated. What kind of man, with such power, was such a coward? "No tienes cojones, cobarde," Cassiel muttered, just loud enough for him to hear her. Fine, if he want's to fight dirty... she thought.
Cassiel pulled a tiny green vial from out of her pocket and whipped it into the trees right in front of the eyes. It hit a tree right in front of the eyes and the tree exploded. Several others fell in the direction of the man. "Don't mess with me, I've got more where that's from!" she shouted.

the evile laugh only intensifyed "cheap spells all you know?" he asked her evily as he speed and agilaty landed him ontop of the fallen trees....
the whip came crashing down harder on Star ripping flesh open as it did....
Star turned to Cass "you will only make him angeryer..." she warned her as yet a thired blow from the whip hit her squar on the face makeing her bleed...

Cassiel shook her head. "I am not going to sit here and let that coward hurt you." And with that, she took off running toward the trees, shifting as she went. By the time she reached the edge of them, she was in full panther form, and full temper. The man had made one vital mistake, and that was clarifying his position to her.
In Cassiel's panther form, she could see him clearly.Her plan was to give Star enough time to get to safety. She pounced on him from four feet away, her claws out and scratching as soon as she felt solid flesh. When she had the man pinned to the ground, Cassiel took a bite at his shoulder, letting her animal instincts take over almost completely.

Star stood there in shock as the one person she though could never be brough down was now suddenly on the ground trying his best to get free....
"get off me ... this dose not concern you!" he said with a growle as Cass bit into his shoulder drawing blood...

She raked her claws down his arm to emphasize her point. <It concerned me the moment you starting hurting my friend. It concerned me more when you hurt me. And even more when I found out how much of a coward you are.>
Cassiel put a razor sharp claw to the man's throat, purposely the one that was bleeding in result of his chain around Star's neck. As the blood dripped on him Cassiel said, <Now, I think you have something to say to my friend here. As soon as you do, I will move and I want you to leave here and never, ever contact her again. If there is any funny business...> Cassiel pressed the claw on his neck gently, enough to cause pain, but not draw blood.

he smirked slightly as she pressed her claw to his throat " oh and what is that?.... that i am sorry?.... well i am sorry...." he said with an evilness about him...
"i am sorry you were ever born..." he said with an evil chuckle wile looking Star deep in the eyes.... "i am no coward like you accuse me of... i am merrily trying to take back what is mine with out being seen..." he said turning his head slightly to look at Cass....
