Practice

[Kaden]

He continued to force these memories to the surface. All the people that hurt him, all the injuries he'd suffered, all the injustices he'd endured...they sprang up in his mind, threatening to completely usurp him. Then, for apparently no reason, he started to think about fire...Flames dancing around his head, invading his terrible daydreams.

Then he felt it. He could feel his body burning, but at the same time, it wasn't. There was no visible fire on his body, but he felt it. "Kiya..."He started to whisper. "My body....I can feel it burning, but....it doesn't hurt."

[Kiya]

"Perfect" Kiya almost clapped her hands in excitement, "now we`re going to concentrate on expelling the fire". Looking around her gaze fell upon the ice statue of herself, "ok. we`re going to melt the statue. I need you to open the palm of your hand - theres no need for chanting for this simple spell - and send all those memories at your target. I`m here if you need me"

[Kaden]

He slowly lifted his hand and pointed his palm at the statue. With one final memory - perhaps his worst - combined with all the others, his hand burst into flames and fired a powerful fire ball at the statue. Kaden was almost thrown back by the force of the blast.

[Kiya]

Offering a hand to help Kaden up, she moved aside to allow him to see his work. Not only was the statue melted, but the wall behind it was black with ash. "Id say you did pretty well" she grinned

[Kaden]

Taking her hand and gently pulling himself up, he looked at his handiwork. Then he looked down at his own hands. "I....did that? Thanks, Kiya....I never thought I'd be able to do that."

[Kiya]

"Maybe ice and fire work alot closer together then we thought" Kiya wondered aloud.

[Kaden]

"Yeah, maybe." He agreed. But, nevertheless, I still need to get stronger. He added, in his mind.

"So....is it my turn to be the teacher again?" He asked Kiya with a smile.

[Kiya]

Kiya shrugged "its up to you. but maybe it would be easier to remain with the fire element just now- whilst you`re in this mind state...."

[Kaden]

"Fine with me, but...do I have to bring up these memories every time I try to use fire?" He asked.

[Kiya]

"It depends" Kiya searched his face, "do you think you can call up the heat without the aggression behind it?"

[Kaden]

Kaden thought for a while, trying to convince himself he could do it, but eventually had to concede that he'd probably have to practice a lot more before he's be able to use fire with ease. He sighed. "No....I doubt it. Oh well..."

[Kiya]

"you will get eventually - it usually takes people a long time to create their first ball of fire" she motioned at the charred wall, "... so i think you`re a little ahead. Actually i`d like to see if you could..." she trailed off in thought

[Kaden]

She had him intrigued now. "What? See if I could what?" He asked her, maybe a little too anxiously.

[Kiya]

Kiya reached out to the goddess, incling her head slightly in reverence. 'Oh gracious mother, I ask for the gift of white fire' she barely whispered. Opening her palm a bright flash of white hot fire erupted towards the sky, "this" she looked up at Kaden.

[Kaden]

He looked at the white flames in her hand, then looked up at her face, skeptical. "You want me to make that? Uh.....Are you sure about this?"
