Cassiel grinned, "I know. We were connected even before we both ended up here though. I don't know how, but I know that we were meant to be."

"No, definitely not. We've almost lost each other too many times before." Cassiel studied Genobee carefully. She'd noticed some things different about him, but non as drastic as his eyes. "Not to change the subject but, I know your eyes were not two different colors when you left here."

He smiled and nodded. "noticed that did you?" he asked slightly embarresed. "Quite a story behind it that i have yet to tell anyone." he commented.

Cassiel flipped her sunglasses up just long enough for Genobee to notice the fact that they were still cat's eyes. She too had a story. "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," she teased.

"Exactly. I asked first so you get to tell your story first. You wouldn't have even noticed anything different about me if I didn't tell you." Cassiel remembered exactly how this game went.

"My last assignment i was ordered to kill a mage who was leading a rebellion in the north. I found out that i needed some magic stone to be somewhat resistent to magic otherwise i would stand no chance. This magic stone needed to have a bond with the person who wore it. The reason i was gone so long was because i needed to travel up to Mt. Scyndar's peak to find a special necklace to hold it to 'bond' it with me. Anyway when i went to kill the mage he fired a very large elemental blast at me and my necklace protected me but it channled the energy through my body..." He explained and took a brake.

During Genobee's story, Cassiel had shifted. She always felt more comfortable in her panther form here in the barn. She curled up next to her brother listening, only her tail twitching. Then what happened? she asked, her voice in his mind.

"The energy flowed through me and fused istelf inside of me. When the energy did that changes occured, my eyes for example is one change. Anyway, the jem in the necklace i later found had dissipeared compleatly and i assume became a part of me. The reason i assume that was from when i fought this mage. He fired shot after shot of energy at me, leaving fire and other trails behind me. As i closed he became more frantic hoping he could keep me away he fired more and more fireballs, shoting them in front of me hoping i couldent dodge. The whole place seemed to become a hellish inferno and thoughts of, im never getting out of here alive crossed my mind. I was full of fear that i might not see my friends or family again that i seemed to focus more..oddly enough i dont remember killing him...i have this blank pot in my head where i did it..where i do remember again is looking at his dead body and turning to my wolf form to find my way out. A human could not have made it out alive so i tried my last hope. After 10 minuts of running through this large building of flame i found my way out, The building was falling down, flame everywhere. As i ran i looked behind me to see the roof comming down and i quickly ran out the door to freedom. The roof colapsed seconds behind me and make an almost explosionlike action and sent me flying. I blacked out and when i awoke is was night and the building was smoldering and a few small fires run the ruins. Debree was everywhere and it looked like a small war had been fought right here." Genobee said shuddering a bit. "okay your turn, ill continue this story with another one after yours." He smiled playfully and shifted to his large artic wolf form and lay down, his head on his paws.

Cassiel laughed at the image she got in her mind, a panther talking to a wolf. She told Ender--Genobee, she was going to have to get used to that. Cassiel shifted back because it was just easier that way. "Mine started when I was looking for new pieces for my shop. I have a jewlery shop, in case you didn't know. It burned down but is fixed now. Anyway, I usually do my own work, but I got a customer looking for something in particular. He was going to pay me handsomly just for getting it. He gave me the money for the piece itself and half of what he was paying me and I left town.
When I got to the area that this necklace was going to be, I didn't like it, got really bad vibes. So I shifted and had the shop owner put the necklace on me so it would be safer. I got all the way to the shop before I realized something was wrong. I couldn't shift back and no one could hear when I mind-spoke to them!
Finally I managed to get the chain caught around a hook by standing on my hind legs. Then I pushed off the wall with my front legs, not easy to do in panther form, and the chain eventually snapped. I was able to shift back, all except my eyes.
When the chain snapped, the charm on it went flying and I still haven't been able to find it. In the meantime, I have a trusted friend analyzing the chain. I never would have put it on, but both parties told me there was no magic on it, and I didn't detect any magic either. Usually with magic that strong I am able to detect it, because of our magic blood."

Genobee sat and listened contently, he tilted his head about her magic blood comment, a curious look on his face

Cassiel looked back at Genobee. He looked at her like she'd just started speaking another language, one he didn't know. "You look really confused, what's up?" she asked him.
