Cassiel was suprised Genobee didn't know " Didn't you know? Our father was a wizard, as was my twin brother. Our mother was a shifter, a tiger. I will tell you as much as I remember, but first tell me what you know so I don't repeat things."

"I dont know much.. I remember the area we lived and things along those lines, but i have alot of blanks that i cant explain until they are filled." Genobee replied. "I became an assassin because i had been promised i would be told what i wanted to know if i worked for them. That deal fell through and that employer died so i just went around as a ronin...or blade for hire you could say."

Cassiel wrapped her arms around her knees and rested her chin on them. "I remember the three of us were very close. You are so close in are with us that the two years didn't ever make a difference. Let's see, what else... I know our parents were very powerful in their own ways. Father was working on a special dagger for some people, I don't know who, but they were not the people who attacked us. I assume it was their enemies. I was in the workroom helping Father because you two didn't have the patience for metal and stonework as I did. You were outside playing with Mother. The rest of that day is a big blur, but I know that I got the dagger and hid with it. I don't know what happened to anyone else after that."

Genobee closed his eyes thinking hard as if memorys were flodding over his eyelids for him to watch. "cas.." he asked in a distant trance like voice. "What was our parents names...and our last name..."

Cassiel looked out the window. The expression on Genobee's face mirrored the way she felt when she learned of what happened. It was too painful for her to look at. "I don't remember their names, when you are as young as I was, I don't think you realize your parents have other names. But our last name is Amaris."

"I..am remembering....Mother was outside with me when the men approached...they were calling out our last name...in anger..." He said trying to peace all he remembered together into somthing coherent.

"I remember Father heard them gave the the dagger which he'd just finished and said 'Cassie, hide' and then he went out to help. The way he said it, he was so scared, that I did what he said. When I came back out, I'd shifted and looked around. I saw Mother, shifted and bleeding, but didn't know if she was alive or dead. But then I heard people and hid again. I never saw anyone else." Cassiel had tears running down her cheeks but didn't notice.

"mother had heard the men comming because of there shouting and pushed me in one of the garbage pits and closed the top...i was so scared i didint move and stayed there until i heard the men go inside the house and i ran...i ran into the forest and hid at the old playfort..."

"I did run for a long time. Eventualy i lived on the streets for about a year. A samurai took me in. Lord Tengi Braska, at the time i didint know he was important." Genobee shruged.

"But he was?" Cassiel wanted to know. Before she got her answer, she told her brother how she was saved. "They found me, but I was still in panther form. When I was that little I looked almost like a kitten, so one of the men took me in. I escaped the first opportunity, and shifted back but was found by some humans almost right away. They put me in their foster care system and I was in more homes then I could remember. Finally I ran away and wasn't caught again. I lived on the streets until I came here."

"It was Lord Braska who tought me the blade and the way of the sword. He adopted me but never made me take his name for his protection, in a way i am his only son." He replied. "He was a very good father to me and did his best to help me find my family. When i first came to this place it was because he said there were things here i needed to learn and find and that i should return when i learned what i felt i needed to...that was many years ago."
